Fascinating future.People from many eras are abducted to the extreme future. This allows for a mini-history of the human race to be composed in the reader's mind, and there's more to the plot than that. Fun story, one of the best 10 Van Vogt novels (but not in the first five).

An interesting story that kept me going. Without giving too much of it away: A WWII era sub is transported to the future, only to find themselves in the company of other "warriors" from humanity's past and future. They've all been recruited to aid some of the inhabitants of the current earth in an ongoing internal struggle. Nice plot twists and lots of characters.
