"amazing odyssey of birds ~ Winged Migration", April 23, 2003
This review is from: Winged Migration (Audio CD)
Nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature "Winged Migration" takes the audience on a journey of dozens different birds flight paths. This fascinating film is directed by Jacques Perrin and the score is by Bruno Coulais the veteran French composer. Other cues in the film "TO BE BY YOUR SIDE", featuring vocal by Nick Cave ~ "MASTER OF THE FIELD" and "THE RED FOREST", performed by Robert Wyatt ~ "LIKE A BREATH OF AIR", performed by A Filetta ~ "THE WOUNDED DOVE", performed by Gabriel Yacoub ~ all the music is breathtaking fulfilling the listeners emotions when viewing the landscapes of Monument Valley, the Eiffel Tower, the Arctic and the Amazon. Higher Octave has presented an album that can stand on its own for your listening pleasure. Each track extends warmth and excitement while introducing the listener to other parts of the world ~ through the eyes of migration and the music that gives them existence. Total Time: 45:16 on Tracks ~ Higher Octave 82505 ~ (4/22/2003)

perfection, December 21, 2003
This review is from: Winged Migration (Audio CD)
this is my first review. usually i leave that to others; younger, more literate, more net verbal. but i received this cd yesterday and i have played it many times since and will play it more times today. it is beauty beyond. it is simply the best soundtrack or grouping of music that i have heard in a long time.

Liked the Movie, Loved the Soundtrack, December 3, 2003
This review is from: Winged Migration (Audio CD)
I enjoyed the movie quite a bit but it was actually the music which kept running through my head after the film. The CD had yet to be released at that time and it turned out to be better than I imagined. From the songs to the background scoring, each track "soars". If you buy one soundtrack this year, I highly reccommend this one. Actually, if for some reason you only buy one CD, you won't go wrong here either.
