As you browse the images of this celestial vision, you have to wonder if the man who created them is not an angel himself. Vividly beautiful and breathtaking illustrations juxtaposed against eerily-haunting, emotional expressions make this deck a quintessential must have for those drawn to the spiritual plane. Mr. Sexton is definitely in touch with the wide-eyed wonderment and imagination that slowly fade in us as we age. He has resurrected the dreamer and the part of the soul that keeps these legends alive century after century. The artwork, itself, is a Neoclassic throwback to the times of the Great Masters with a hint of expressionism to soften the lines. I highly recommend this work. Purchase this deck.

5.0 out of 5 stars If You Love Angels, this is for YOU!, January 2, 2000

I have had an angel collection for years. I recently purchased the Winged Spirit Tarot cards because I wanted to add it to my collection. I was pleased with my find! The visual artistry on each card is beautiful. Each angel is inspiring and the stories about the angels are fascinating. Obviously the author, David Sexton, went to great lengths to find unique descriptions and legends. I recommend this tarot deck for anyone who has a love for beauty.

I have collected a few art decks here and there since I was a child, many of which are too big or just otherwise not suited to actual tarot readings.
I wanted to finally start doing some real readings, and bought this on Amazon having liked what I saw of the imagery (wasn't too simplistic or primitive, too cartoonish or tacky looking.) The cards are also a good size to fit my hands. Unfortunately, the deck is unusable, and the imagery isn't even worth keeping it as an art deck to admire every now and then. My initial impression of the art, before I ordered the deck, was mistaken. The figures are reminiscent of characters from an 80s video game, or some bad web comic. The back of every single card is stamped with "1999USGAMES," which is annoying. But the reason the deck is unusable is because the cards are not smooth. They are laminated with some sticky plastic that makes them stick together, almost impossible to shuffle or spread, or work with at all. I don't know what the people who make these were thinking, but this is a really crappy deck. Don't waste the 14 bucks.

Got this deck because I liked the Angel theme and the artwork I saw in the previews section on amazon.com, but I was also impressed by the book that goes along with the deck. I found it to be well researched and I learned a few things about various myths and legends. I highly recommend it to any Tarot enthusiasts or anyone interested in myths and legends that focus on angels.

The figures are beautiful. However, that is just about all there is on every card. I dislike tarot cards where the pips are simply repeats with increased numbers of the suit. For example, the only difference between the four of wands and the five of wands in this deck is an additional wand and a shift in position of the figures on the card. There is no emotional or perceptional difference when you look at them. I have never tried to read with this deck, and rate it at about 140 (out of my collection of >150).

A lot of people have more than one tarot deck... But this is my first and only deck. I haven't felt the need for another one after this. The artwork is truly amazing and angels/ cherubs/ spirits are on every card. It also comes with a handy little booklet which describes the story behind the images on the cards (although the meanings are quite easy to decipher just by looking at them) and also tells you what they mean in a spread.

I've been extremely accurate with this beautiful deck. Just holding it I can feel how strongly it pulls at me. The inscription on the side of the box reads "A host of wondrous and angelic Winged Spirits reveal the mysteries of the unknown and connect us to the sublime. This 78-card Winged Spirit Tarot deck brings their voices into focus."

Good enough for beginners and gorgeous enough to keep the interest of those who are already experienced. Definately a worth-while purchase.
