Great Book for Pilots,
By
This review is from: Winging It! (Paperback)
As a military and commercial helicopter pilot for many years, plus many fixed-wing hours in private aircraft, I found the book and the individual episodes very interesting. And having just returned from a driving trip through Alaska and having friends there, the description of the weather, terrain, hardships, and especially the bravery of Jack Jefford and his breed of pioneer pilots is fascinating. Having MY personal schedule often interrupted by the need to fly "mercy missions" by myself under difficult circumstances, this book of the exploits, bravery and compassion of Jack Jefford the early Alaskan pioneer pilots is not unlike the stories of men on horseback taming the old west!!!!Wanderer6

A mildly entertaining read about a fascinating life.,

This review is from: Winging It! (Paperback)
The book is just a collection of very short stories written by Jack Jefford describing many of his adventures in Alaska. He lived a life very few of us could imagine, and it is mildly entertaining, but it comes across a bit too quaint. Only a die hard pilot and reader can enjoy this book, even though it is a very quick and easy read.
