I bought this product for my boyfriend because we thought it would be fun to have at parties, too bad it doesn't work. After several beers and waiting the 20 minutes without eating he blew a 0.0. I had half a glass of wine, waited the 20 minutes and blew a 1.1, obviously the calibration is way off. I know that it's really just a novelty product but for $30 I thought that it should at least be near accurate.

I had a near miss with the cops and I bought it to make sure I was OK to drive. The reading is all over the range. One Coorlight and I was at .11 (I'm 185lbs) not possible. A few more drinks and I 'm at .00, a few more drinks .05 It does read .00 when your not drinking though!

Tried it on some other people and they were all over the field as well. It might as well be a random number generator.....hmmm maybe that's the software running it.

Work well I drank a beer and tested - drank another one tested worked fine the entire time . . After that I don't remember :)

I am not sure how accurate this device is. I purchased this for my girlfriend's 21st birthday more as a gag gift than a reliable Blood Alcohol Tester...
It is a lot of fun and we took it around to all of the bars we went to for a few months. Makes for a great conversation piece while at the bar/parties.
Seems to give an okay reading most of the time, however throws farfetched results at times. While most states are at .08 BAC, that doesn't give much room for error with a machine like this.. Either way, if you're detained by a cop, he or she will have the highest grade BAC meter on hand for you to use ;)
I would advise this to be used only as a conversation piece not as a true accurate BAC meter.

Works great, once you realize that you arent supposed to cover the holes on top, its very consistent. Breathalyzers should be in every glove box, purse, and key chain in America.

I am a chemist and this did not perform to my expectations. i would blow and show a 0.8, then 30 min. later it would show a 2.4, then 30 min later it would show a 0.8. The reproducibility for my use was inconsistent.
