There are a few too many:

Bubbles (the drunken bubble scene in Paris is a bit too long--but if you want to see a silent war movie with a LOT of too long scenes, watch King Vidor's "The Big Parade." Jeeez...)

Aerial dogfights (SACRILIDGE!)

There are just enough:

Kisses (3). Oh. That's not counting the French officer who kisses on both cheeks all the men he's decorating (including Jack and David).
Love scenes (1)...and it doesn't hurt that the director's beautiful wife is standing in the doorway watching (only movie she ever appeared in).
Death scenes (2): 1) see just above and 2) a soldier sits down to have a smoke, and a piece of shrapnel does him in, without removing the cigarette from his mouth.
Gallant Germans (1)

Clara Bow is awful cute (too), and it's a shame emotional problems kept her out of talkies...
