Book Description

From the stillness of the Himalayan peaks, Yogiraj brings to the thirsty and distressed, a message of healing and peace. Follow the footsteps of a Yogi and experience through his words, as he walks his talk in the jungles, temples, ashrams and hidden [to the uninitiated] places of India. Enrich your life with the secret oral traditions revealed for the first time - mysteries of life, immortality, and Self-Realization. Not since the "Autobiography of a Yogi," written over 60 years ago, has a Master brought the message of Mahavatar Babaji to the world for a new millenium. The author details his remarkable experiences with Babaji, insights on Kriya Yoga, healing, the spiritual hierarchy, supra-conscious states of yoga, meetings with great beings, and his mission.

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute must have for a seeker, September 7, 2004
By
H. Singh (San Francisco, Ca) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Wings to Freedom (Paperback)
There are numerous books written by people who can describe what the "path" is. Most of these books have left me with a feeling that the author just "knows the path" - maybe the author gleaned it from classical yoga texts or from other new age books.

But as Morpheus says in the movie Matrix "There is a difference in knowing the path and walking the path"

Yogiraj is a person who has walked the path. His descriptions are from his own deep personal experiences. He has experienced the absolute reality and this shows up in the book. His authority and mastery over various concepts on the spiritual path is evident.

His description of various stages in enlightment was enlighting :-). The stages of spiritual evolution(of various spiritual masters) is something that I have not read in any books (and I have read plenty). His meeting with Babaji leaves you speechless and wordless. His chapter on the way spiritual healing works is wonderful and answered a lot of my questions.

Overall, the language is beautiful - verbose and precise at the same time.

Once I picked the book - I could not keep it down till I had finished it. I am on my second reading and am discovering more and more.

I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to know what spirituality is all about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truths Very Rarely Spoken Of, September 7, 2004
This review is from: Wings to Freedom (Paperback)
How can I review a book of this stature...written by one who knows the highest spiritual truths through personal experience? But I have read this book more than once, and with each reading I am awed by the stunning revelations presented so directly. As a living Himalayan Master, who is among us now and accessible, his words in this book can be the beginning of profound spiritual changes for any reader who wishes to be introduced to his/her own "wings to freedom".

5.0 out of 5 stars 'take the flight'..., September 22, 2004
This review is from: Wings to Freedom (Paperback)
...into the still-mind of a living Nath Yogi. The experience of reading Wings To Freedom is second only to being with the Master Himself, that is, if you can even compare the written word with the experiences Gurunath gives. Several readings are necessary to begin to fully absorb such lofty subjects as the different levels of samadhi and avatars. Yogic wisdom, combined with Gurunath's own personal journey from his childhood as a born Siddha to his travels into "The Land of the Hamsas" in the Himalayas, and Beyond - this book deserves a place on your shelf next to "Autobiography of a Yogi."
