5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome conversion of the Amiga classic
A trouly miraculous piece of work that the developers of "Wings of Fury" managed to complete. Wings of Fury, one of my all time favourite Amiga games, looks just like the real thing, and plays accordingly. The gameplay and the graphics, as well as the long term motivation for this game are superb due to the nicely varying missions. Get this if you like 16...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad port from the computer game version

Wings of Fury was one of my favorite games to play on the Apple IIgs. It had killer graphics and animation for its time, and I loved its physics model and your ability to attack anything (including your own carrier if you wanted to).

The color gameboy version of Wings of Fury is somewhat different, and a little disappointing. The physics model is much simplified, and you almost never stall or have trouble taking off or landing. In order to maintain a more tame video game rating, they removed the enemy foot soldiers you used to strafe with such satisfaction with a single jeep that re-arms blown up turrets. The AI has been dumbed down as well, and dogfights with enemy planes don't have the same thrill they did on a green Apple II monitor.

They did add a few neat maneuvers, such as a barrel roll and split-s, but they are mostly eye candy and not that useful. If you can find this game for cheap and want to re-live (sort-of) the old computer gaming experience, I'd recommend it.

This game is preety good. It would probably be better if it was a Gameboy Color only game. You go through 15 levels using dive-bombing, dogfighting, and torpedo-bombing skills. You control the F6F in the third person view, so if you don't like to be in the cockpit of the plane, you might not like the game too much, though I liked it.

Very good, very realistic, with lots of challenging levels. But it is murder on your left thumb!

This is a very fun game to play. I used to play it when I was very little. I still play it today and never get tired of it.

This game is ok. You must understand that this isn't like Playstation or 64. the graphics are o.k., but not great. You are in a view that is beside the plane. It is o.k. If you have kids that like planes, you might be able to find a better one but that is really just my opinion. If you do look for a differant one, may I suggest Top Gun. It is old but very good. Thank you.
