John F. Schumaker has wings of lucidity!,

This review is from: Wings of Illusion: The Origin, Nature and Future of Paranormal Belief (Hardcover)
Understanding the nature of human belief systems is one of my principal preoccupations. I've read scores of books on this subject, and find John F. Schumaker to be in a league of his own in this discipline. He writes about beliefs with as much insight and clarity as Bryan Magee does with the complexities of philosophy. This book is timeless.

This review is from: Wings of Illusion: The Origin, Nature and Future of Paranormal Belief (Hardcover)
Paranormal refers not to some new age craziness but rather to our incredible ability to miisperceive and completely distort the reality we live in. It is a leadin to his equally profound book, "The Corruption of Reality". Do not read if inclined towards complacency.
