5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Informative Photography
The book is filled with fabulous new photographs and fascinating archival shots. A clearly written history of the Alaskan Highway, dramatically colored with the lore and legend of the pilots of the North Country, it chronicles the critical influence of air transport on the development and history of the highway. Anyone who has flown or driven the highway will enjoy this...

3.0 out of 5 stars Wing Over the Alaska Highway
The history on the construction of airports was shallow. There are probably over a hundred general aviation pilots that fly the highway just in the summer so it is not that uncommon. 4.0 out of 5 stars A BOOK FOR YOUR NORTHERN BOOKCASE, January 29, 2008
This review is from: Wings over the Alaska Highway: A Photographic History of Aviation on the Alaska Highway (Paperback)
This is a really great book. I have flown the AK highway many times, and this book has added to my knowledge and appreciation of the history of the Northern route. A great book with really good photos and bits of history that is seldom visited.

I also recommend FLYING NORTH SOUTH EAST AND WEST, another great book on flying in the North Country.

Flying North South East and West: Arctic to the Sahara

This is just another aviation book on Alaska using pictures to substitute for the lack of research into the history. For those of us that fly each time we get into our airplanes is a whole new experience and we could write more about it than is in this entire book.
