5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the Best
The Blade III is simply one of the best Dart Boards you can buy. Seriously; you could invite a professional over like Raymond van Barneveld or Phil Taylor and be proud of this board. When I unpacked this beast I was really amazed at the quality of detail. Yea...I still get bounce outs (3 in about 1000 darts thrown..yes we keep track) but not near as many as a typical...

3.0 out of 5 stars it was nice
it was nice but it was a gift and the numbers that are wire that make up 1 to 20 i can't read what some of the numbers were like anything that has a 3 in it. But the board it self was very nice. thank you.

When I unpacked this beast I was really amazed at the quality of detail. Yea...I still get bounce outs (3 in about 1000 darts thrown..yes we keep track) but not near as many as a typical 'staple made' standard board. BUY THIS BOARD...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! Your arm will give out before this dartboard does. I got a professional recommendation to buy this dartboard...now I am giving it to you. Buy it!

This board is worth the money. I have not had any of the fibers pull out like on some other boards. The wires are triangular shaped and if you hit one, it slides your dart off to the side. The weight of the board screams quality manufacturing and after a lot of use, this board shows little to no wear as the holes seem to disappear. I play a lot of cricket and I do rotate my board on a regular basis. The only problem, and very minor at that, is the number ring was just slightly bent when I pulled it out of the box. I almost considered giving it 4 stars for that minor issue but decided against it because everything else is so expertly crafted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Winmau Blade III Dartboard, March 20, 2009
This review is from: Winmau Blade III Bristle Dartboard (Sports)
Excellent dartboard that was purchased at a sensible price from an Amazon dealer.Purchased this because of the manufacturers claim that the board reduces "bounce outs" and that is a valid claim.Since I've owned this there have been only 3 bounce outs and they came from the bullseye area and basically the dart just dropped to the floor and didnt come sailing back at me like a scud missle.I feel this is the best board on the market today and that there was actually some thought used in its assembly. It also looks good and is very durable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Nice, August 23, 2009
This review is from: Winmau Blade III Bristle Dartboard (Sports)
Concerning bounce-outs. 3 out of 1000 is complete BS. I smell a manufacturer review. It's not every throw, but you'll get them every few games. Other than that, this dart board is pretty nice. The setup and mounting instructions could be better, but follow the guide for how high to put the center mounting screw and that's about all she wrote. It's accurate if nothing else.

After owning this board for several weeks I really thought the bristle would heal better, but it's certainly better than what I've seen from most boards. This is a quality board, it should hold up for quite a while, putting it up is simple and quick. What more can you ask for? If you've played with a board that has "sharpened" wires, then you know what to expect. This is much better than the $25 stapled, wire lays on top of the board... boards.

Money well spent. I wouldn't go higher than $50 for it but I am confident that I got every penny I paid for. Soft or steel tipped darts work great, relatively easy installation and many quality games let me give this board 2 thumbs up. Don't spend more unless you're experienced and know what you're buying. If you're looking at boards in the sub-$30 range, upgrade to this one, you won't regret it. Also FYI, no darts come with this board so order accordingly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Board, mounting hardware is adequate but not ideal, September 15, 2009
By
This review is from: Winmau Blade III Bristle Dartboard (Sports)
I purchased this dart board about a month ago and it was the first thing that I had installed in the basement of my new house. The construction of this board is top notch. The weight it perfect. The section separaters are tapered to help reduce bounce-outs and there are no staples or stray pieces of metal anywhere on the board. Because of the material used to construct this board, your darts enter easily with only minimal noise and also pull out of the board effortlessly. The only complaint I have with the board concerns the mounting hardware. The mount that attaches to the wall is a simple bracket with a U-shaped cutout with single screw holes on either side. On the back of the board, there is a pre-drilled hole directly behind the double bulls-eye where a 1-inch long screw with a fat, rounded head is meant to be inserted. From that point the board is meant to be hung like a picture with the center screw resting in the U bracket on the wall. There are three additional metal "space fillers" that you need to attach to the back of the board to keep it stable against the wall but that is all you get to hang this thing. I understand that the single screw mount is meant to allow you to easily rotate the board, but there are times when you pull out your darts that the board moves and you're no longer looking at a straight board when you go to throw your next dart. All of these issues can be easily worked out by picking up some additional hardware at your local home depot to suit your needs but I personally would have preferred a more stable mount over the ability to easily rotate the board. Overall this is a great board and I highly recommend it for the serious shooter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding value and great performance, January 7, 2009

After having tried numerous dart board designs over the years, I have found the Blade III to be the best by far. This board is a very high quality bristle board but my favorite feature is the unique wire system. There are no staples what so ever and no bent over ends of the vertical wires at the bullseye. This wire is extremely small and clean and the top edges where a dart might contact the wire is beveled which helps the dart to riccochet to either side. You will get an occasional bounch out when you happen to hit a wire directly on the apex of the edge but these are rare. You won't be disappointed with this board! I own three of them.

I've played darts in many bars, and in many homes. The Blade III is an awesome board! Very few Bounce Outs, and a good Bristle board, plus Winmau is a name in darts you can trust. Bristle Dart Boards can be used with either Steel tip or Soft Tip Darts, but the Bull is a bit hard for Soft Tip. otherwise, i cant find anything to complain aout.

4.0 out of 5 stars I agree about "could heal better", October 25, 2010

First - the con: As I saw mentioned in other reviews, the board shows where darts have hit. The holes don't "heal" anywhere near as nicely as the 20 year old Nodor board I replaced. I gave that to my nephew and it's still going strong. It also seems the darts don't penetrate as deeply as in the old board or, in other words, it's much easier to pull the dart out of this board, but I've yet to have one fall out.

Now for the pro: I hadn't seen a board like this before buying it and I'm very satisfied with the wire construction. Bounced darts are way down over the old board. I definitely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best, September 30, 2010
This review is from: Winmau Blade III Bristle Dartboard (Sports)
Have had Winmau boards since the first Blade came out. Can't beat the price or performance of this board. Glad to see Winmau continuing development with the triangular blades. My older Winmaus produced alot of bounce outs. The Blade 3 reduces that significantly. I can vouch for everyone's comments on this board, it really is simply the best board out there.
