5.0 out of 5 stars MyShelf.com Book Reviewer, June 30, 2002
By Suzie Housley (Oak Ridge, Tn United States) - See all my reviews
Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it . . .

Justin Connelly, Vice-President of Marketing for Connelly Corporation, was a member of one of Chicago's prominent families. He had recently been voted as one of the most eligible bachelors in Chicago. He reluctantly gave in to his sister's pleas to participate in a charity auction, where the proceeds would benefit families of slain police officers. He would be auctioned off to the highest bidder; and, his reputation guaranteed that he would generate a high price. As he stepped out onto the stage, immediately surrounded with high bids, he was suddenly fearful about who would 'win' him. He would have liked nothing better than to be back in his office, working late at night along side his attractive and efficient assistant, Kim Lindgren.

Dreams have a way of coming true . . .

Kimberly 'Kim' Lindgren was alone in life, making her living as the highly organized assistant to Justin Connelly. She secretly harbored romantic fantasies that centered around her sexy Supervisor, but she knew that it was ludicrous to dwell on dreams that could never come true. Justin was a part of the high society class that only dated fashionable models and blue bloods. He would never lower his standard to notice a meek assistant such as herself. When his sister invited her to the charity auction, and persuaded her to out bid any offers on her brother, she was shocked at the feelings that arise. Would it be possible to turn her dream into a reality?

Metsy Hingle has an astonishing writing talent that never disappoints. I am constantly amazed at how her books always demand to be read in one sitting. She effortlessly writes with a smooth writing style that sparkles as it is savored. Reading and reviewing her books is always a great pleasure.

3.0 out of 5 stars I should go to one of these auctions., January 12, 2003

Plot description on this book's Amazon.com page. This story has a continuing plot that goes through the rest of the series, DYNASTIES: THE CONNELLYS. Good characters, story moves quickly and nice sexual tension between the characters.

4.0 out of 5 stars amusing contemporary romance, June 8, 2002
Though it is a charitable auction to raise money for the widows and surviving children of slain police officers, business mogul Justin Connelly prefers not to be sold to the highest bidder as a hunk of beef. Still his sister Tara Connelly Paige and his assistant Kim Lindgren manage to eliminate his last obstacle forcing Justin to join the male sale. Tara also forces Kim to attend the auction as her guest.

Kim is alone in the world since her only known relative her mother died so she finds the extended Connelly crowd overwhelming yet fascinating, but she also loves Justin and has so for several months. Tara manipulates the situation further by persuading a reluctant Kim to bid on Justin. Kim wins the date with Justin for the fifteen thousand that Tara put up. Tara knows that Kim loves her brother and she thinks her sibling reciprocates. On that date Justin treats Kim like a lasting treasure, but she wonders will he still love her tomorrow?

The latest Connelly brood contemporary romance engages the audience from the moment bullish yet petite Tara charges like a fullback into Justin's office. The story line never loses steam as matchmaking marionette Tara pulls the strings that enables the reader to understand the delightfully charming lead couple as well as insight into this key secondary protagonist. And the Winner is the fans, as Metsy Hingle keeps the pressure high for Kathryn Jensen to match or exceed her with her July Connelly entry.
