Do yourself a favor and read the sample before considering buying this book! I read the entire sample (on my Kindle just now) and am quite appalled at the weak writing skills displayed. I can only conclude that the author has English as a second language and that he did not follow his own advice of outsourcing, because if he did he would have had his text proofread by someone with a decent grasp of well constructed English. This guy has some good ideas, but his skill in conveying them in English is quite awful most of the time. Now this might not bother you as much as it bothers me. I can readily imagine that some readers are in the habit of reading between the lines and do not care about proper syntax, grammar, sentence construction, usage, etc. I have to believe that this is the case for the many reviewers here who think highly of this book, however I personally can't consider reading further into this book than I already have. I have many far superior books awaiting my attention. Attempting to garner useful information from this book is far too painful an experience for me to trouble with.

Edit: Coming back much later and re-reading my review I have to add one thing. I was reticent to say it before but I think I should say it now, something that was in the "back of my mind:" I suspect that some of the reviews here (and even the "not helpful" clicks my review received) are the result of shills for this book. True? I can't prove it. Like I say, read the sample before you buy! If you really like that, go for it. It's not for me, that's for sure.

Look at the customer images, notice how there are 2 of them of the book on a bookshelf? The author took his book to Wal-Mart, put it on the "bestseller" shelf and then took pictures and posted them up here. He didn't even completely cover the book behind it. And this is a "Winner"? Why would you trust anything in this book?

Some of the 5 star reviews are so similar that they can only be fake.

The grammatical errors are glaring. This book looks as if it was written by a high school student who failed his writing classes.

Qvist is a proponent of looking successful as a way of becoming successful. Unfortunately this philosophy did not extend to hiring a qualified editor. Two of the first three sentences of this book are ungrammatical, and the grammatical sentence is a quote from someone else. Maybe we should go read that guy?

What a unique approach to entrepreneurship and motivation! By analyzing the DNA of the winners (and losers), one can better understand the WHY behind how easy it is for some to be self-motivated and why it's so difficult for others. But this book is more than just a look AT motivation - it is a helpful blueprint to overcoming entrepreneurship anxieties that some of us have, even if we do have good ideas that should work and that should change our futures for the better. From understanding yourself to the crowdsourcing of others, A Winner's DNA is remarkable in its insight.
