Heartwarming story for all ages,
This review is from: The Winner's Walk (Hardcover)
Nancy Ruth Patterson is a wonderful children's author, and her newest release, The Winner's Walk, is my favorite so far. It is a story that teaches the importance of individuality and self-worth, with a heart-warming story of loving animals and friendship. If you are looking for a gift that encourages a child to not give up in the face of setbacks, to care about family, animals and people, and to learn about service dogs and their importance in many lives, this is the book to give to all on your list.

Yezerski's drawings provide excellent embellishment to a fun tale.,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Winner's Walk (Hardcover)
Case Callahan isn't a star or champion like others in his talented family - in fact, he's not really good at anything in particular. That's why he becomes determined to try out for activities in which he might excel, facing repeated failures until his friendship with a lost dog gains him some degree of fame. Thomas F. Yezerski's drawings provide excellent embellishment to a fun tale.

This review is from: The Winner's Walk (Hardcover)
Case lives in a family of over-achievers. His mom is an actress, his father trains champion horses, his sister is a swimmer. He tries different outlets to find his niche, but it seems like Case will not have his moment. He finds his talent in training a lost dog and is on the way to the winner's circle. The dog's true identity makes Case question himself about what's really important.

A dog who helps a boy find his special talents,
By Debnance at Readerbuzz (Alvin, Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Winner's Walk (Hardcover)
Case feels like he is the only one in his family who has no special talent, but he has plans to change that. He enters a talent show, a science fair, and a horse show, but fails to make a mark in any events. He is about to give up when he finds a dog, a remarkable dog, and the dog helps Case find his own special talents as a dog trainer as well as his special talent of sharing.
