I purchased this for my brother-in -law who is pretty large , that is, he weights about 300 lbs. He needed something to wear while borrowing our 12 foot aluminum boat to go out fishing in the lake. Naturally we were a bit worried what would happen if the waves came up due to wind, etc and the boat capsized, and/or he fell in the water. Anyhow, local stores did not carry an oversize life jacket, they just offered to special order me one for about $70. Instead I checked Amazon which had a way better price. On delivery this vest looks way too small, but it is not. It fit my B.I.L. just fine: Once all the straps are let out and adjusted, this vest looks like it fits great. It sits snug and high on the chest, has 3 straps for secure fit and there is ample armhole room. For my rating I am taking off one star because the fabric seems a little thin, but it probably does not affect the flotation; just that I think it could tear somewhat easier than other lifejackets we own, and that would void the safety rating on the jacket. PS We don't know yet how well this jacket will floats a 300 lb person, so we plan to ask him to wade in the lake on a warm day and test it out, and then I will report back.

When I first saw this life jacket I thought it looked too small for my large frame. However, after adjusting the straps, it fit perfectly and was very comfortable. My previous life jacket would ride up and push against my neck but this one has a deeper V around the neck and large arm holes. I did find the buckles a little hard to release with my arthritic hands but I learned to pinch the releases hard and fully. When fastening them, a quick tug on the buckels will insure they are fully latched. I would recommend this life jacket for large people.

Thanks for the 2 lifew preservers. I have arthritis in my left shoulder and these fit great. My husband likes his because his rt. hand was amputated in Korean Conflict and these straps pull to the left easily and great.

Purchased this to take on vacation with me. Wanted to make sure that I would have a life jacket that fit for all of the water sports. This one did fit, and was comfortable and definetely with the cost.

I have a problem when it comes to life jackets ; they are all too small for me , even the extra large wont fit me , I have a very ample torso ( that's what I keep telling myself ) and had too look for a 2XL at least , this one fits the bill , the straps are pretty long and you can adjust all three , I wish the padding was a little bigger since the jacket looks a tad small when I put it on , but for the price you can't expect more .

On the other hand , I only need this to comply with the law for boating and this meets the requirements , probably won't trust it to keep me afloat by itself ( 210 lbs , dry )but it should help .

UPDATE :
I'll be darn , this jacket can carry my weight , no problem , took it out for a swim and when I stopped it easily kept me afloat by itself !

First time using this jacket, my rider came off the tube and hit the water and the buckles came completely un-done. The jacket did not do what it is supposed to do...Not impressed at all :(

I'm glad I ordered this one. So far it has lasted a whole season. I needed a large one and this one is roomy enough to wear all the time. Thanks!
