Question for the readers above,
By
This review is from: Winning Lotto / Lottery For Everyday Players, 3rd Edition (Paperback)
Before buying this book ask yourself this, did the reviewers above actually win the lottery after buying the book and why isn't every PHd in Mathematics and statistics doing the same thing. Please buy a book on basic statistics before buying this book. there are no secrets no clustering just randomness. You will lose 50 cents on average for every dollar spent.
Save you money instead of buying what is a piece of garbage.

A fraudulent book,

This review is from: Winning Lotto / Lottery For Everyday Players, 3rd Edition (Paperback)
This book is based on the false concept that there is a substantial and readily detectable bias in lotto/lottery draws, which one can take advantage of and win money. Nothing could be further from the truth. All games are regularly tested with sophisticated statistical methods to make sure there is no bias and thus all numbers are as random as can be obtained. This does not rule out a rare screw up by a state game. Few if any of the sets of numbers in the book could have come from any honestly run game, but only from the warped and dishonest mind of a con man and a scam artist. A few examples will serve as illustration.
On p.17 Jones shows a lottery frequency chart in Fig.4.2 that he claims is based on 500 draws of a 4-ball game. But the data are doctored. A bright high school student taking a statistics class can calculate that the table is a fake. Next, go to p.24 and look at the positional analysis of a Pick-4 game in Fig.5.3 Count how many hits there are in each position and note that the ssums are all different. Specifically, they are 50-42-41-51 for a total of 184 and a mean of 46, which each position must have. But Jones has used faked data to illustrate a false idea. Any recommendation based on faked data is bogus. As a third example look at positional analysis of a 6/49 game on p.47. In Fig.6.5 none of the six positions have the same sum. They vary from 49 to 70, which is absurd. He then uses the same data for a positional analysis of a 5/35 game by extracting the 5/35 part of the 6/49 data, as if the two games could have identical numbers. Jones ha copied, plagiarized and stolen Dimitrov Wheeling Systems from G.Howard, who has the copyright to them. In summary, the book is a dishonest and or an incompetent piece of crap. The publisher, Cardoza, was informed years ago about these and many more faked data but republished them without any change. Cardoza and book sellers honor only the maxim: Caveat emptor or sucker beware. Prof. Jones is a professional gambler and could not be a professor of any academic subject. He seems to be a teacher of flim-flam and public deception. You could make more money buying tickets for the $10 than this book. Borrow it at your libray aand test his phoney ideas on past drawings before risking any money. Stig Holmquist

One of the more detailed books i've seen on the subject. Goes step by step thru the process of lowering your odds for pick 3, pick 4, pick 5, pick 6, and power ball. It covers in great detail the following methods: frequency, position, cluster, summing, and wheeling.

Save Your Money,
This review is from: Winning Lotto / Lottery For Everyday Players, 3rd Edition (Paperback)
This book does not help you win the lottery. While there are strategies that can help improve your odds of winning, this book does not do a good job explaining them. In fact, you can get better tips and strategies on lottery information website, for FREE. This book was a huge waste of money. Save your money and check out lottery information websites like [...]. At least if you aren't happy with the information provided, you didn't waste any money!

A brief overview of statistical strategies,
By
This review is from: Winning Lotto / Lottery For Everyday Players (Paperback)
The book focusses on three main types of lotteries being played in North America today: 3/4 ball lotteries, 649 style lotteries, and Keno. Powerball and scratch 'n win lotteries are also mentioned. Prof Jones details the major statistical approaches which can be used to maximize the odds of winning any given lottery. Wheeling systems, both full and abbreviated, are discussed. This is a relatively short, small book; it contains plenty of practical 'how to' advice. Players who wish to simply follow a set of cookbook instructions will be right at home here.I deducted one star simply because I would have preferred a larger book, with more statistical proof to validate the approaches mentioned. I also felt that the discussion of abbreviated wheeling systems was, well, abbreviated; there are a number of templates - hundreds - and while these could have been included, Prof Jones would prefer to sell them to you as a separate product advertised in the back of the book. Still, he does include several commonly used templates, and explain their use. Actually, there are a number of products advertised in the back of the book, most of them sold by Prof Jones. While I normally prefer my books to be advertisement free, I felt that including advertisements for products very likely to be of great interest to the purchaser probably isn't a huge sin. So, in this case, I chose not to deduct a point. To his credit, there isn't any evidence to indicate that Prof Jones has edited his book in such a way as to make purchase of additional items mandatory. While the products advertised will make the methods described in the book easier to implement, the book does stand on its own. There are no examples in the book of how odds improve using his methods. There is also no discussion as to whether his methods will improve your odds enough to break even or show a small profit; but, given that there are absolutely no specific financial claims mentioned, it would not surprise me to discover that you'll still lose money by gambling. Whether you'll lose less using the methods in this book is by no means clear. The book is by no means an exhaustive exploration of the topic; it is more like a 300 MPH overview from 10,000 feet. What it does do is provide the beginning gambler with a basic introduction into choosing numbers which may be more likely to hit. It will stimulate thought, and give the number crunchers something to keep them crunching away into the wee, small hours of the night. Aside from its brevity and lack of concrete examples and statistical proof, there's really nothing wrong with the book. It's a quick and easy read; it does have specific step by step examples on choosing numbers; and if you believe that statistical analysis will improve your lottery results, then this book is not a bad place to start. Good luck!

Are you kidding me?,

This is just sad. It's ok that the state governments have a lottery to essentially tax the poor people who have no understanding of basic statistics (or they do and they have an incredible amount of faith in their luck). I don't care how you play the lottery, odds are ALWAYS on the house. This is why poor people stay poor, instead of proper financial management (ie. 401k, mutual funds ect...), they hope for their luck in winning it big. Besides, many people have described winning the lottery the worst thing that ever happened to them in their lives. Even if one wins the lottery, the fact that they played the lottery in hopes of making money shows they have poor personal-finance management and generally people who win the lottery in the long run end up in substantial debt. Just research some people that have one the lottery and read what they have to say.
If you're even considering on buying this book, please read a personal finance book (one that is popular and an easy read is "Rich Dad Poor Dad"). Millionaires and Billionaires are smart financial managers, they didn't get there money from winning in the lottery. Anyone with a can become a millionaire with proper investing (and time).

Smart solutions and easy to analyze,
This review is from: Winning Lotto / Lottery For Everyday Players, 3rd Edition (Paperback)
Professor Jones writes an easy to follow book that can increase your odds of winning. His positional analysis and sum total strategies are excellent tools, and tha fact that he has a degree in statistics give him more clout.

It could be better,

This review is from: Winning Lotto / Lottery For Everyday Players, 3rd Edition (Paperback)
This book does offer some basic and simple analytical methods about how to choose winning numbers. These methods can be easily abserved by a perceptive lotto player. Also the book discusses a bit about the winning combinations (Dimitriv systems). So basically, there is not much of some creative work. It's for very starters.

Knowledge that your neighbor wont tell You,

i have to say that this is a better version, this is the second version of it, and i must say that it is good. You have to believe in yourself when you play and apply the strategies that Professor Jones says in his book. I dont know his first name but he goes by Professor Jones. Any the methods in the first book will be elaborated even more, along with new methods that he has come up himself (prof jones). the frequency method and the hot numbers are very important strategies when playing the game. it does not matter whether you play the Virginia lottery or the Oregon lottery, or any other lottery out there. they are good. even though i have not won yet, but other reviews here say that they have won okay money. as for myself, i only get a couple of numbers actually (2 out of the six)but it is best something as compared to obtaining absolutely nothing...dont loose patience, itis best to have these strategies than just going on blind luck or guess. just think about it, if your young winning 4 million dollars is alot, and if your old is still good---- book is highly recommended, and i will say this, books such as these are hard to find in just a regular book store where one lives. book is highly recommended more strategies for one to use to your everyday playing in increasing your odds in winning. dont buy the computer stuff offers rely on the book....good luck to lotto players
