5.0 out of 5 stars A great game for all ages!
I played this game with my cousins and my grandmother when we were little, but I've never known anyone else who played or who had a set. Even 20 years later, we are likely to get it out & play when visiting, and now that 2 of her great-grandchildren are old enough to play we are all remembering how much fun it is! 3.0 out of 5 stars A slow play . . .
Based upon the earlier reviews of this game, I expected more. Although enjoyable enough, the game moves incredibly slowly -- at least for a group of 4 adults. I can, however, see why families with children would find this game fun.

I played this game with my cousins and my grandmother when we were little, but I've never known anyone else who played or who had a set. Even 20 years later, we are likely to get it out & play when visiting, and now that 2 of her great-grandchildren are old enough to play we are all remembering how much fun it is! I've been searching for a deck to have at home for my son - I think I'll order more as Christmas presents for the family. It can go slowly with a new (or young) player, but the more you play the faster you play, and it gets very exciting. Fun and interesting for even a 7-year-old, but the pace changes with the skill level of the players. You can have a furious contest or a quiet game with conversation...very versatile. I love this game!

I grew up playing Flinch with my mother and grandmother. They were absolutely ruthless, and I loved every minute. They also used the cards to play another game called "Donkey". I have been looking for this game for years because we wore out several sets of cards. No one had ever heard of it. I'm glad it is back in print. Now I know what to get Mom for Christmas!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for the whole family, October 29, 2001

This is a game I enjoyed as a child and as an adult I still to rate it as one of my favorites. My parents continued to use their old set until the cards became so brittle from old age they were afraid we'd destroy them. We searched for many years for a new set but were unable to find the game anywhere. As a last resort and in a desperate attempt to preserve this valued family game, my mother actually laminated each card so that we could continue to use them. My children have come to love it as much as I do.

The beauty of the game is that it is simple enough for younger players but yet challenging for an adult. In fact, my children often beat me! I think I've checked all possible moves and I lay my card down on my discard pile, I get "flinched" and I get the penalty of having to add that player's discard pile on top of my own! This adds excitement to the game - just when you think you're winning because your cards are about gone you get flinched and suddenly someone else may be the winner.

Needless to change we are THRILLED to see the game is back on the market (or at least we've finally found it). I've ordered several to give this Christmas. I can't wait to see the surprised look on my mother's face when she opens this gift!

I was delighted to discover that this game is still in print! My twin brother and I used to play this game with our grandparents in the 1950s, and always ended up screaming with laughter! It is as much fun now as it was then!

I stumbled onto Flinch while looking through the games for aChristmas gift for my daughter. I hadn't heard of or thought ofFlinch since I was a child, when I played it with friends. I was so excited! Our entire family has learned to play and we all love it - we've even taught Grandma and she's going to teach her friends. It's fun, challenging, takes a short while or longer, and is always different. We're all glad that I found Flinch after all these years!

We love the game, and actually came across one at a garage sale from the 1960's. We played them for a long while and finally had to replace the deck. We love the game so much, but the cards are already worn out and we just purchased the deck a little over a month ago

I bought this game for our kids for Christmas, but my husband and I have enjoyed it just as much as they have. A great "thinking" and "counting" game for the kids, but not so difficult that they lose interest. In fact, the pace of play moves rather smoothly once you play a practice round or two. We also found that if you have more than two players, it plays even quicker. It's no wonder to me why they brought this game back---it's a gem! Trust me, they won't even notice that the TV's off.

My family and I played this game often when I was young, and now I play with my mom, brother, his wife, and our oldest daughters! This game not only helps teach young ones to count backwards from 15 and to think critically and strategically, it is great fun for them to catch grown-ups making an error (it happens--the adults are chatting and enjoying watching the kids!)This game accomodates from two to eight players, so the more the merrier.......have fun!

My two daughters and I play Flinch with my parents when we go to visit. We enjoy the challenge of trying to build on the piles and be the first one to diminish our stock pile. My father enjoys this game because he always seems to win. It is a great card game for big families.
