We purchased this game to have my daughter's "Bunco birthday". It was for her 10th birthday, so the children's ages ranged from 9-10. My 8 year old daughter also played. They had a great time! They definitely needed an adult or two there to help explain the rules and what happened next (especially the table changing after each round).
What seemed to be the most problematic for them was putting the dice back in the cups before rolling. It is just too difficult to fit them into the cups and took too much time. I finally explained that rolling should be quick, so soon enough most of the girls abandoned the cups altogether. Best thing about this version of the game is the instructions that are included. they explain how you can play with anywhere from 2 - 16 people. It is a fun game for any size group, large or small. I would not recommend this game for a large group of children under the age of 10. Smaller groups or families, yes, but big, standard "bunco" type parties, no.

This set is nice, it has a bell! However the dice shakers are never used and the scoring sheets are much more complicated than we usually use. The set is fun and very cute! As I don't use the "deluxe" part of the game, I would buy a cheaper one next time.

It is a great set for the price you pay. Only thing is that it could have included more game pads.

This game is a lot of fun with a group of 9 or more. Very easy to learn and will keep you on your toes has you and your opponents' roll their dice.

I had heard of but never played Bunco before. We found the game amusing and fun to play for a while. It was not a game we would play all day, but was ok for a quick game to pass the time for a while.

I bought this as a gift for my mother at Christmas because I play Bunco periodically when friends need a substitute in their usual groups due to holidays and such and at fundraisers in the community.Because my mother has never understood how I can have such fun just throwing dice, I bought this set and told her I was going to teach her how to play. I know the basics, which is probably why I like it so much because even after a couple of glasses of wine with friends you can still play and not mess anything up. You have groups of 4 people at a table and you throw a trio of dice that's how many we use and you start off rolling to get the 1 on the dice, and in the next game you roll for 2 and the next 3, etc., up to 6, the highest number on the die. Each time you roll the dice, you hope for three of the same number, which gives you a bunco and automatically gives you and your partner for the game the win at 21 points. However, most of the time you have to work for those point and sometimes surpass that total because the head table who controls the speed of the rounds based on how quickly one of the teams sitting at the head table reaches 21 or hits bunco. Each die you roll that has the correct number on it for the round, again using the 1 as an example, gives you 1 point. If you throw the dice and two of the three turn up with a 1 on them, then you get two points for that throw and you continue to throw, adding up points each time you throw a 1. When you throw the dice and you do not hit a 1 on any of the die, then your turn is over and you tally up how many points you got, which goes onto your team's running total. Whoever is ahead on points when the head table rings the little bell that is included in this kit to signify that they have reached 21 points or got a bunco, wins. They mark the win on their card and they leave their table, moving up to eventually get to the head table and control the speed of the game. The two who remain at the table who lost will then have different partners as the people from the table 'below' them who won rotate 'up' to their table to play the next round, this time trying to throw dice with 2's on them. Again, once you start playing it gets addictive because it is so simple to do and after a couple of glasses of wine you also start to get creative with your throwing techniques to see if you can't finesse a bunco out of the dice. Quite frankly that has never happened for me, but I have yet to play in a bunco game where I didn't thoroughly enjoy myself, with or without the wine. It's a great way to spend a rainy day and if you have small children it's a good way to work on addition with them. With this kit being so complete with everything you need to get started, along with game instructions and alternatives to add into the basic game to give you extra ways to build up points, it's a really great set to have or to give as a gift.

This is a fun family game! We love that you can choose different colored dice instead of being stuck with just white. It's a great game to play with kids or adults.
