I ordered this game and had it shipped to me. I've since played it a few times. It's been a hit each time. Some have said this is better than the original Scattergories. I think it's a nice twist. Instead of multiple subjects and the same letter, you have one subject for each round with different letters. In some cases, letters repeat and you must come up with two different answers. You score one point if no one duplicates your answer. If the letter appears more than once, like two S's, if you put an answer for the first S but someone put it in the second S, you score the point.

Other than the format, other differences from the original game:

You have two minutes, not three, and the standard timer isn't noisy.

You score one point for each answer, even if you use the letter more than once.

The game comes with four pads, but more than four can play. Just rip off a sheet to give to extra players. The sheets are double sided.

The first player to score 25 points or more wins. This usually takes about four rounds. Or you can play a set number of rounds (four or six) and the highest scoring player wins. This is a great party game and I highly recommend it. If you play it a lot, the sheets will run out, so make duplicates on a copy machine when you get a chance.

Having been a fan of the original Scattegories I was eager to try its latest incarnation. Holy Cow was I amazed at how it plays and I doubt I will go back to the original version. No more impossible letters to play, the categories are funny and very playable for all ages, and the laughter that comes along is priceless. Scattegories Categories is a must have for anyones collection.

I've played this game twice now with two very different groups of people and I honestly can't recall the last time I laughed so hard! I like Scattergories, but I LOVE Scattergories Categories. The games are similar, but I feel like you play the same games OVER AND OVER when you play Scattergories because there are only 12 topic cards whereas this game has a couple hundred different categories so ever time you play is different. Will definitely be giving some of these away for b-day gifts!!!

This is a great playing version of the scattergories franchise. Rather than being stuck with one letter like the original, you have the letters from the category from which to craft your answers. The variability of letters within the single category still requires thought, and leads to much more varied and creative answers. The game looks great and only loses a star on durability because my sand timer would clog now and then. Just use the timer on your phone and enjoy this fun, imaginative and well-designed game with friends and family.

My parents really enjoyed this game because they felt freed up to write more answers and didn't draw blanks like they did in the original Scattergories. They got more points and felt more successful so they liked it better. I actually like the original better because in this version there are so many possibilities that no one ever had the same answer to cancel each other out, and I find the challenge of thinking of a unique answer to avoid cancelling to be part of the fun of Scattergories. I still enjoyed the game, though, it just wasn't as challenging to me.

I like this game, it moves faster and seems easier then the original but still just as fun. My only complaint, I feel like you can take the categories and just memorize keywords to fit each category. This would not make the game as unique each time as the original.

This rendition is as much fun as the first -- but it is best with smaller groups of people. Also, I am not sure is it is played a lot whether it will be too easy to remember others answers making this game a bit easier over time.

I own and love the original "Scattergories." So, when I saw this game on Amazon, I wasn't sure what to expect but sounded fun so I ordered it. Got it two days later. My family and I have played it twice so far it's pretty fun. It's a lot like the original game, except you have one catergory and multiple letters instead of one letter and multiple catergories. It's a little more challeging but just as much fun. I'd recommend it to anyone who love these types of games or just loves "Scattergories." I've also heard there's a Bible edition for any Bible lovers out there.

Although this game is labeled for 12yrs and up, my 10 year old had a great time playing this game as well. It is a great family game night game and is much like the original game of Scattegories. I highly reccommend this game as it gets everyone thinking and results in lots of laughs and a great time for everyone :)

I got this game because I have seven in the family and I wanted us all to be able to play. My daughter-in-law really likes this game. We played it on Sunday and it worked well with our family.
