Charles Stanley accomplishes what he set out to do in this book. This is a very good tool if you are having problems with sin in your life. If you are human, chances are that you ARE having problems with sin. He gives you the tools and resources needed in overcoming sin. All you have to do is apply these biblical principles. Nothing exceptionally grand about the way he wrote the book. He gives some good illustrations, though. Mostly get-to-the-point information.

Once again, Dr. Stanley has written another excellent text, this one focusing on temptation.

Among the important points covered in the book include:

1. Reasons to take sin seriously.
2. God wants to develop our character.
3. Ways people shift blame for giving in to temptation.
4. God does not want us to live an anxiety-ridden life.
5. God will provide an escape route from temptation.
6. When faced with a situation, consider your past experiences, present state of mind, and future plans/goals/dreams.
7. The devil is often subtle.
8. Accountability is important in overcoming temptation.

Read and be encouraged to be strong in the Lord!

Our constant war within. To conquer sin is our relentless pursuit, this book makes that process more attainable. I recommend you to first read HOW TO LISTEN TO GOD, then continue with this one. Learn to hear GOD, then enter the war within, and live a truly victorious life!

Another reviewer said this book is valuable to anyone having problem with sin. One of the points this book makes evident is, that includes every human being. The book is not just about the traditional temptations of sex, alcohol, etc, but also losing your temper, being self sufficient, etc...I really believe this book can speak to anyone if read thoughtfully. It is an essential primer to any Christian wanting to know what sin and temptation are, how they originated, what forms they take, why it is important to battle, and how to accept the victory of Jesus Christ.

Charles Stanley clearly defines the steps necessary to keep winning the battles against evil.

I am studying this book in my sunday school class and I am really enjoying it. We love Charles Stanley and have done several of his books.

The book will clarify the actions of the Christian and the need for honesty over legalism.

EVERY Christian should read this book. It gives very practical steps to living a life of victory in Christ through freedom from sin. It also gives proper perspective to the spiritual warfare that is really the bigger picture. I highly recommend it!

Great Christian book by renown author, Charles Stanley. Great seller.

I was introduced to this book at a men's conference. Couldn't put the book down. Pastor Stanley has many interesting ways of looking at the trials we face. I wish I had the strength to get through them all!
