Trays are very sturdy, and a gorgeous, dark wood color. Gave them as a gift, and recipient loves them...warning, buying cheaper priced table trays is NOT WORTH IT. I bought others at lesser price, and returned them. Make sure to purchase beechwood, oak, or a wood that will not split when screwing the legs onto the trays. These trays actually come completely put together from this particular company. A great value.

I was very pleased with the wooden tables they are a dark walnut finish which is exactly what I wanted. My husband was even impressed with the solid construction of the TV tables; and he is a carpenter by trade. They are larger than any other TV table I have seen.

The product arrived promptly. These are really well made and attractive tray tables. The holder needs to be put together, but it is a no brainer for most people. No tools were needed (the allen wrench was provided). I'm glad I spent the extra money for these units.

The good news is ... these tables are pleasantly heavy. They have the potential to look very attractive, and I definitely like the nice grain of the wood.

Now for the bad news which, unfortunately, outweighs the good ...

1. The packaging was GHASTLY and UNACCEPTABLE! This was an almost 50 lb box that was held together with one-inch cellophane tape! The box was open on three sides when it arrived. Fortunately for the seller, the product wasn't damaged, but only because they got lucky - as did I. This package should have been held with staples and strapping tape. Shame on them for such lousy packaging!!

2. While the wood itself is nice, the finish on the tables is rough, splotchy, and uneven. Not nearly as nice as I would have hoped.

3. All the tables, as well as the stand, are wobbley and uneven. Again, fortunately for the seller, we are able to level everything by using sticky felt pads. Not very good in the workmanship at all.

4. There were absolutely NO instructions included! Fortunately my husband is handy and has a brain - unlike whoever put together this order!

We are keeping this order because we have absolutely NO faith that exchanging the tables would provide us with any better quality. I shop extensively at Amazon.com. If I see the name Cymax on another product I might be interested in, I will keep looking. I think their product, quality of workmanship, and packaging leave a LOT to be desired. I would advise other shoppers to keep these points in mind if they are considering buying TV Trays from this company.

It's really a shame, too, because I don't have $78 to just throw away. I don't feel at all that this was money well-spent!!!

UPDATE:

After posting the above review, I emailed the company with my concerns. They responded within just a few hours and, each time we went back and forth, they were always immediately responsive. They were terrific at addressing my issues, and we reached a resolution that was satisfactory.

These are nice looking tables. I used them a total of three times.

On the fourth use, I stood one of the tables on it's leg and began to spread the other to it's open position when one of the tables legs just broke in half, about half way down the leg.

Not cracked, not a jagged edge, but just broke neatly in half, as if there were a manufacturing defect. It was almost as if it had been glued together.

I bought these in September 2010 and really don't know what to do about it, other than try and fasten the two pieces together somehow.

UPDATE:
I emailed the company and said that I would purchase another table, if they would send me details about how to do that, and after several exchanges of emails, I got a notice from Fed Ex that they had picked up a package from the seller. It was delivered tonight and the company had sent me a replacement tray table.

As far as I know, there has been no charge, they don't have my information, none was ever mentioned, just the the table was shipped.
I have no idea why the table leg just snapped but I have a set now and the others appear to be fine.

I did not expect this service, their form was only for a missing part, which is why I wrote to them, the part was not missing, just broke.

I ordered the tables having read the reviews and all of them said the tables are sturdy. However, the ones that we got are NOT sturdy at all - they shake like thin, light wood tables that are not put together well. When we looked at the legs, they are standing just on little tips, so my spouse and I are now thinking of either cutting the legs a little so that they will stand flat, or somehow otherwise reinforcing the tables. In addition, one leg for the stand was broken.
Otherwise, I do love the color and size of the tables, but, again, they are almost useless unless reinforced. What a pity!

The tv trays are super sized, perfect for a real plate and drink with room left over. The finish is good but not perfect. The finish on the table tops is not uniform in that there are areas that do not appear to have a clear finish in all areas. This problem is resolved by using liquid gold or Old English furniture polish. I had a broken leg and a crushed foot part. The manufacturer immediately replaced the damaged parts. I can't ask for much more. I would reccommend to a friend.

These are great - they look much nicer than your typical TV tray. They are also a bit larger. A bit on the expensive side, but if you are looking for a high-end TV tray this is definitely the way to go.

We bought these for our cabin. They fit the bill. Nice size/not too small. The wood on these is solid and they are constructed well. They are worth every penny. (got them on sale here)
