Please don't buy this product. It is very poorly made. The back panel is split in to two halves: one half of the panel was not long enough or wide enough to fully cover the seams, leaving visible gaps along one side and the top. The staining on this product is uncharacteristically uneven. It just isn't worth the money.

I am amazed at what a piece of junk this shelf truly is. I could not agree more with the first review. The only real wood on this shelf is the top and the four corners. Everything else is made of particle board. I had to send for a new one because the first one I ordered came with the particle board cracked and when the second one came a different piece was cracked. By combining pieces from both I was able to make a whole shelf but wish I never even started putting it together. I have spent 2 hours now trying to screw eight wood screws in with an allen-wrench and am still not done. I am young with good eyes but you can not see to get the wrench in. It frustrated me so much that I had to stop and write this. It is poorly constructed and the design for putting it together is not thought out at all. It looks cheap, it is cheap, and yes, the staining is extremely uneven. DO NOT BUY THIS SHELF!!!

I've put together furniture from IKEA, Target, and a few other stores and the quality of build and instructions were 10x better than this product. The parts just don't fit together the way they should. Don't buy

I ordered this thinking that I could use it for books but when I got it and tried to put it together, I realized how cheap and weak it was. Maybe I could use it to hold baskets full of socks or small articles of clothing, but I wanted a bookcase. I guess I should have researched it more,but when I searched for "3 shelf bookcase" this one popped up. It sounded good and looked nice, but $94 was too much for something that isn't strong.

This item arrived in a broken package that was loosely held together by packing tape.
During lengthy, labor intensive assembly parts looked flimsy and cheaply made.
Upon being assembled the item was stood up on its feet only to find out that ONE FOOT is SHORTER than the others by about 1/2 inch!!!!

After a tedious session of putting this thing together, taking it apart in hopes of exchange for another, properly made one, was NOT an option. We kept it and put things under the short leg... MANUFACTURER - PLEASE FIX!

I was looking for shelving that was not too tall to go beside my tv. I purchased 2. One went together pretty good, but noticed some gaps on the lower sides. The other one I ended up having to drill extra holes so it would fit together better. Still not quite right and not as sturdy as I would like. Not so easy to put together.

I have to echo the other 1-star reviewers here -- the parts just don't fit together properly. The back panels are warped, so extensive work is needed just to get them to fit in the slots in the first place, and the slots are so shallow that even the slightest jostling (which you'll have to do, since you need to put the panels in before the final step of assembly) will knock the back panels out of place again. And, even when they're in place, they don't align with the screw holes in back needed to keep them there.

Impossible to assemble. Try another product.

This is not a bad looking shelf but it is very poorly designed and almost impossible to put together by yourself. The back panel was warped and I had to call a friend to finish assembly. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing.

The shelf arrived with the packaging intact and all pieces in the box. Assembly was very easy and all screws were tightened without stripping the pilot holes. Once assembled I would say that the shelf exhibited about 2 - 3 degrees of lateral sway. After I added books this was reduced in half. The middle shelf (not adjustable) is not screwed to the carcass as the top and bottom shelfs. During assembly pins are pressed into the carcass, and the shelf, which has oversize holes, is installed on the pins. This eases assembly, but contributes to the sway that is observed. It's not detrimental to the performance of the shelf, but it was an observation. The literature promotes the shelf as being 28" wide x 30" tall x 13" deep. These are the overall dimensions of the shelf. The depth of the two shelfs is 11 1/8". The height of the opening for both shelfs is 12 1/4". The finish is promoted as antique walnut and I would agree with that description. The image has a little more "red" than walnut, but this could be contributed to the monitor.

In conclusion, for me, the shelf is well designed, easy to assemble, pleasing in appearance, and fits my needs. Would I buy another, yes.

Price and overall look is great, but you will most likely have to make modification. I did and will be making more modifications. I bought two of these and the vertical pieces came severely warped on one unit. The other unit is not to bad but will make modifications to it so it matches the bad one. The problem is in the engineering. The 3 shelves in the middle are not adjustable and are only attached by dowels which does not securely pull in the warped vertical pieces. Learning from putting together the first one (not as warped), I used glue as I was putting it together. Then I clamped and used bungie cords. It did not hold due to how bad the warp was. I am now going to drill into vertical pieces, into the shelves and use cool looking screws to pull it together also using the clamp and bungee cord (only have one large clamp). Then go back to the other unit and do the same so they match. It should have been designed this way to begin with. Everyone knows that wood warps and it was not appropriate to use dowles. If you are willing to put in the extra work I recommend buying these due to the looks and price. If you want something easier to put together look elsewhere.
