While my luggage rack arrived intact, unlike a previous review, it appears to be cheaply made. When it is folded up, what is holding the straps in place is a single heavy duty staple on each strap. It you are storing the rack where it is visible when it is folded up, it looks ugly and cheap because of this. I also question how effective this will be long term -- a staple -- instead of the straps beings sewn together. If the box wasn't gone already, I would return it. Because of the odd size of the box needed, keep your box until you are sure you want to keep this item. I would not recommend ordering this item.

Winsome 92420 Luggage Rack with Curved Legs, Espresso. I bought two for my guest rooms and they look great and are very functional.

One leg is cracked (through a doweled area) probably from no protection other than cardboard shipping box. The finish, while a nice dark color, is uneven due to poor prep of wood. Some areas are shiny, others have a rough texture. I may glue and refinish the crack or just send it back. I am too busy prepping for 35 arriving for Christmas!

I have been an Amazon shopper for over 6yrs.; recently placed about 16 orders! This is the first item that was unsatisfactory.

Update: This item was returned. I bought a small folding table instead.

This is the best looking luggage rack - at the best price - I could find and I was not disappointed when I pulled it out of the box. Until I saw that the leg was split. I am returning it for exchange. I have had to return other items to Amazon previously and they make it very easy so it's really not a problem since I am not under the gun to have the luggage rack by any certain date. I did not carefully inspect the quality of the rack since I am not keeping it; however it seemed fine, especially for the price. I don't expect a luggage rack to be an heirloom piece of furniture. I plan to pull it out of the closet on demand. I think this luggage rack will be fine if I can get it undamaged.

My advice to potential buyers would be to order this rack well in advance of the time that you will need it for company, in order to have time to exchange it if it comes in damaged, as seems to be the trend with this item.

Post-script 5/24/2011: I received the replacement luggage rack in less time than it took to receive the original one that came in damaged. This replacement is in good condition and I am pleased with the look of the luggage rack, I may even keep it out in the room rather than stored in the closet. The quality of the craftsmanship is fine for this type of item. The Espresso color is a VERY dark brown, as I expected, and it blends well with the black footboard of our guest bed.

Here is my summary of important specs that should help you:

Stain: Espresso - It actually appears to be more of a black. I purchased to match an espresso bedroom set I already have and this rack is considerably darker; I had to shine a flashlight at it to verify that it wasn't actually a true black.

Finish: Visible lap marks and splotches in the top coat. At first I thought they were just smudges of oil etc since its pretty hard to produce a low quality finish on such an easy piece of furniture.

Condition received: visible scratches along the legs. Made me think it was already used, but I have a feeling its just poor quality control from manufacturer.

Packaging: seemed adequate and I do not believe is the cause of all the scratches.

Important Note: Look carefully at the photos and you'll see that the top edges are not flat and that the fabric is actually a couple inches lower than the fabric. If you search around you'll notice the nice racks have the fabric at the same level as the wood edges on top so that your bags sit nicely on them.

Above is why I am returning and finding another one.

Just tried it out this week when we had guests visiting. They enjoyed it. It can be collapsed and stored out of the way.

I bought this luggage rack because of the expresso finish. It matches the furniture in my guest room perfectly and really looks welcoming to every one who comes to stay with us.

This is a great looking luggage rack, we remodeled our spare bedroom and wanted a luggage rack for our guest to use, I did an extensive online search and kept coming back to this one. The price, the quality and the looks were all what I was looking for. I would recomend this to anyone looking for one.
