Winsome Wood Wine Tower, Espresso Finish

I opened the package and checked off all the pieces. I was missing 2 screws but figured I could use some of my own. After putting the right side and back together, I couldn't get the bottom piece of the back to stay in. After 20 minutes of fiddling around, I realized that the side piece was broken. I figured I could glue or drill a screw in to keep it together. I then proceeded to try to put everything together on the bottom half. Two hours and a lot of swearing later, I realized this thing was not going together. I ended up packing it up and sending it back. I'm happy Amazon will refund me the money. I'm very disappointed.

I'm not sure if my husband has, but I have never taken the time to review a product until now- I had to warn other people. I give it two stars instead of one only because it looks nice from far away. But it's misleading; this piece of furniture is SO FLIMSY and cheaply made! We are going to have to nail it into the wall for fear it will fall over. For this price I would expect much higher quality. Shame on this company. Do not buy this!

Overall, an okay product. It is solid and looks good in our dining room. The color is almost like a dark cherry. It takes up very little space, but provides a lot of storage space. The negatives, it took a friend and I almost four hours to put together (and normally, I don't have a problem with these things). The biggest problem, besides the directions were almost non-existent, the drawer was almost impossible to get screws into. I had to repeatedly re-drill the holes and line them up. If you can get it for a reasonable price, go for it. It is not going to be a super high quality product. But it is much higher quality than particle board furniture pieces.

I take a certain satisfaction in finding products that are great values from unexpected sources - a dress at Target, a patio set at Walmart, running shoes on Amazon. Over the course of four apartments, I've assembled more pieces of furniture than I can count, mostly by myself, even for items that recommend two people. I'm usually a pretty good value-hunter, review-sifter, and makeshift builder.

This item was, to date, my worst online furniture purchase. It arrived within a timely fashion - 2 weeks - and I unpacked and began building immediately. The left panel was cracked all the way through its leg (photo), in a way that made me nervous about it supporting vertical weight, especially a bunch of glass. I've dealt with broken shipments from Amazon before, so I just called the company and asked for a replacement part. I actually anticipated this, as other websites' reviews of Winsome were not nearly as favorable, saying the company shipped broken pieces on multiple occasions. What I failed to recognize is this item is over 5' tall, and having it, all its styrofoam, and its box (in case it eventually needed to be returned) taking up over 5' x 3' on one's living room floor is not trivial. It sat there for another two weeks.

The replacement parts arrived, and when I opened the box, it was clear the part that Winsome shipped was made for an entirely different piece of furniture: it was a different color, the grooves were a different size, there were inserts that didn't exist on the original piece (photo). Eager to get everything off my floor, I used the original cracked piece and assembled everything, figuring wood glue would solve any problems down the line. No such luck, as the drawer was clearly too narrow for the fitted grooves (photo). I did not want to expend any more time, energy, or floor space on this item, so I gave up and sent it back.

I surprised even myself in feeling disappointed with this piece - I came in with the expectation that previous reviews of "lightweight," "flimsy," and "okay" were accurate (they were), all of which I was willing to accept at this price. Amazon's reviews are usually right on, but I see that, when the reviews are sorted by date, the 2011 reviews are increasingly more negative. I would not go through with this purchase again myself and could not recommend it to others either.

This was the worst piece of furniture I have ever purchased. I recently moved into a new condo and had to buy all new furniture and this was the only item I had a problem with. The wood was warped, the screw holes were not aligned properly and the pieces just did not fit where they were suppose to go. A complete disappointment.

Searched all over for a good looking, functional cabinet for my wine & liquor. Between what I found at various furniture stores, this is absolutely the best looking AND cheapest piece I could find.

Assembly is surprisingly easy - took ~1 hour by myself, though I did have a power drill to drive in the nuts/screws instead of using the tiny little wrench included in the package, which helps a lot. The pieces generally lined up quite well, so no awkward assembly situations or forcing pieces into place.

The rich cherry/espresso finish looks really great... there was a small dent in one of the shelf pieces, which is probably a shipping defect if anything - but I was able to orient it in a way where it wouldn't be noticeable, rather than go through the misery of packing everything back up and shipping back to Amazon for a replacement. The thing is fairly well packed so shipping damage should be minimal.

Plenty of storage space in here - obviously the 18 bottles of wine, but my main concern was how much height clearance that middle shelf had, in order to fit some nice liquor bottles to display. Well the answer is just under 14 inches, which is great - most standard bottles will go in here just fine. Got a couple JW Gold / blue up here and they look great. You can also fit about 9 standard size wine glasses up top, but they fit pretty tight; if you want larger goblets you'll be limited.

Overall... great value for what it is, and free shipping really makes the deal.

Nice looking wine rack, but it doesn't feel particularly sturdy. Also, the drawer falls out when I try to open it. I'll need to add a wider track for it to work properly.

I ordered this wine tower from Amazon because the price + free shipping just couldn't be beat. After reading the reviews here it seemed to me that the tower itself is great, but the real gamble was what condition it would be in when I received it. For whatever it's worth, my wine tower arrived in perfect condition, no damage or missing parts. It was also the dark espresso as advertised (some reviews said it was lighter). I managed to put the tower together in about an hour using a small cordless drill with the proper allen wrench bit on low torque. I only used the supplied allen wrench for hand-tightening all the screws.

Overall we're very happy with the wine tower in our dining room. I also added a cheap strip of battery powered LED lights to the top (tucked them behind the lip so you can't see them) and when we have guest over, they illuminate the glasses hanging upside down. It adds a stylish touch for little to no effort.

It's a cheap looking product. parts does not fit completely and there is a gap between each two pieces. the whole tower is very unstable and declined in one direction. Do not compare it with IKEA product which you can assemble perfectly.

lil bumppy a lil scratch but weak but ok the price was good and it is a pretty item, looks geed with the rest of my btrown and bedige funiture.
