Delicously satisfying conclusion, December 13, 2008
The fourth installment in a four-part series, this book was definitely not a let down. Our two main characters, Hakuin and Fuyu who have had a less than rocky relationship so far realize that what they have is real, even without Fuyu being purified. Then after meeting Takuma and Ryuuto at the end of volume 3 we get to see how their relationship holds up. An unpurified demon (Ryuuto) and a not so brave human (Takuma) don't exactly seem to make a good couple, but both learn a little about both life and love and decide some things are more important than others. Beautiful art by Rhea Silvan, and a little insert done by Le Peruggine (artist of volumes 2&3) for the naughty scene make this last installment a artistically appealing and a great read as well.

Mega Squeee!, December 2, 2008
Yes, this was a satisfying 'ending' for Winter Demon. Seriously good. Though I'm hoping it's not really the end because I LOVE this series. It's one of the only series lately that I actually get excited about. Like I kept checking over and over to see if it's out yet.
There was a new artist for this one. Actually, it's the same artist who did the kitsune story in the end of the last book. I was skeptical, but this art was awesome. It reminded me of some Japanese mangaka. It was very clean and beautiful. I think it changed the mood of the story. Like with the other artists Fuyu is more emotional and he and the monk fight more. With this art everything seemed more serious, but it was really nice and dramatic. The story was darker this time with Fuyu 'relapsing' so the art set the right tone. One thing though, the old artists did one scene of *ahem* particular importance. It was juicy. As much as I loved the new artist I don't think anyone can do steamy like the original artists.
The first thing I did was email the publisher to find out if the story is going to continue. Because there seemed to be some stuff left open. They actually answered my email!! They said: "There isn't anything "official" planned right now. ;)" I see that wink! There had better be a Spring Demon series coming. Or you know I also might like to see something about the fire demons from the first volue, or something just about Figaru, or wahtever! Just keep it going. I would love to see more with Fuyu and Hakiun. This series is awesome and I want MORE!

Great yaoi (M/M) fantasy series, and the story continues in DJ! (also, there's a prequel...), June 9, 2009
I really enjoyed the final volume, and the art by Rhea Silvan is magnificent. One could never tell it's NOT done by some great Japanese manga-ka, it's that good. The story did leave me wanting for more, and there's indeed some continuation! The story of Takuma and Spring Demon Ryuuto continues in a recently released doujinshi "My Dream - Winter Demon", available directly from the publisher. It's a 16-page (large/over-sized) booklet, with beautiful drawings also by Rhea Silvan. I think it's well worth the price they ask for it. It's not explicit, but Takuma and Ryuuto *do it* in that story :). I really enjoyed it, and recommend it all who enjoyed the original series!
I also noticed that not that many readers realize that there is a prequel to "Winter Demon" story, a short story "Snow Demon" published in another Yaoi Press manga "Enslaved by the Dragon". It's darker in tone and beautifully done (story by Tina Anderson, art by Yishan Li). This short story was probably written before "Winter Demon". I really liked it (maybe even more than "Winter Demon", as I generally like dark stories), though Snow/Winter Demon looks a bit different (yet recognizable) from his final version in "Winter Demon". For all fans of the series, I recommend it!
