5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Plant
I received this plant very quickly and it was packaged very well. This plant turned out to be very hardy and has even lasted through a barren summer in Northern California.

3.0 out of 5 stars Banana plant
Planted it on a pot and was doing well but with the heat in Dallas the leaves burned. I placed the pot in a shaded area with same result. The trunk is growing but unable to sustain the new leaves.
now it is cooling a little and I can see the new leaves are faring better. I received the plant about less than a foot tall and now the trunk is about 2 feet tall within 4...

I received this plant in the middle of winter (in mid-Atlantic region), it was packed well and almost immediately started producing new growth. It was about 8" tall when I got it. It is now almost 5 feet tall. Great plant that grows fast. Watch out for spider mites in the summer - make sure to give the plant a good spray now and then to kill the mites.

I purchased two different 3" banana plants from this company. Both arrived quickly in good condition. They were re planted and have already formed new leaves. Good product would recommend this company for future purchases.

I ordered these plants and within a week they were here in perfect condition. I was amazed at how large they were. The description was exactly what I ordered. I will be ordering from this company again. Very good service.

The price was very reasonable. The plants arrived in an acceptable condition given the current wheather. One had no green leaves left but all are doing much better and growing after transplantation. Time will tell how winter hardy they are. Even though I'm at a zone 9-10 my current banana trees froze but some are already coming back. I had the same problem the year before. I want the trees for the hummingbirds since they like banana tree flowers better than any other flower or feeder. I hope this kind of tree produces good nectar and it does not get set back for months with a frost like my current ones.

i ordered a basjoo and it came on time. But when i got it it was like it had been rolled and the leaves were a yellow green and all were bent. After a few days i commented to the supplier its status and asked for a replacement as the plant was not growing and looked damaged.
They quickly responded and sent me a replacement.

Im thinking someone was not careful when packaging.

Im just glad it was not dead when it arrived.

In the end im just excited to be growing a basjoo in new england!

Update: 11/14/2011

Both my original and replacement have added a couple leafs. I was able to nurse the first one back to health and is now doing quite well in my indoor garden.

5.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good, August 3, 2011

First of all, I can't believe these things survive the shipping process.

Got mine about 3 weeks ago. It was packed pretty well, but it was obvious one of the leaves wasn't very happy. I transplanted it into a bigger pot after 3 days and put it outside where it gets full sun. I have two new leaves already. We'll see how it survives through the Oregon winter, but so far so good. No complaints.

I couldn't be happier with the ordering, shipping, the quality of the banana plants. They are doing quite well despite the hot summer. I will probably buy a couple more before the summer is over.
