This review is from: Winter: Recipes Inspired by Nature's Bounty (Williams-Sonoma Seasonal Celebration) (Hardcover)
William-Sonoma cookbooks usually have a lot of great recipes intrigue me, but this winter collection just did not. Too many frou-frou recipes, too much seafood in the beginning, and exotics such as duck, goose etc. I prefer cookbooks with ingredients and common forms of meat such as beef, chicken and turkey. There were some of this nature, but nothing that enticed me enough to want to make it.
Some of the desserts looked good, such as the bread pudding, the wintergreen ice-cream with truffles, and the grand marnier soufflé with ladyfingers. Overall, I expected more from this book. I'd love it if there were some more mainstream main courses.

I use Williams Sonoma cookbooks mostly for inspiration - they're all so beautifully designed and photographed. I found many of the ideas here interesting although I probably won't use the recipes themselves.
