I just got this CD! I always buy 1 new chrismas CD every year and this was it for 2009; in addition to being my first Beegie Adair. I have a home office and I love listening to this quietly in the background (no vocals). It would also be great to have on if you had a few friends over for a bit more upscale cocktail party. I like instrumental CDs and typically choose solo piano albumns or quiet medidative type styles. This is just slightly more upbeat, but still relaxing while I'm working at my desk without disrupting me. I start listening to christmas music just after halloween, and I'll be listening to this one all season long for many Christmas' to come. I think I'll try some other Beegie Adair CDs for the rest of the year.

I like everything that Bee gee Adair plays. It is the music of the era in which I grew up, the 40s and 50s.I have many of her CDs. I prefer just her trio. No horns or reeds. I play keyboards myself and if I hear the same tunes over and over I will eventually be able to play them.
Her tempo is neither too fast nor too slow. She makes her music swing. It is very listenable.
Amazon has everything I would ever want. I can always find stuff at this site, and I get my items promptly.

Beegie is citing George Shearing, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson and Erroll Garner among her influences, Adair has recorded over 20 CDs, ranging from Cole Porter standards to Frank Sinatra classics to romantic World War II ballads --- Her 6-CD Centennial Composers Collection of tunes by Irving Berlin, Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Richard Rodgers became an instant collectible classic when it was released in 2002 --- Adair is as close as one gets to a vocalist at the piano, seldom leaving the melody behind, always acknowledging that what she's playing is a song, in this case without the words.

This Holiday album plays like snow gentling falling from the sky --- flowing very easily on the ears, as once again Green Hill comes through with a must have for all yuletide greeters and fans of Beegie --- Arrangements by Jeff Steinberg take on those special Holiday decorations in musical tastes with the same sensitivity and tender care as her previous albums --- another great outing for executive producer Greg Howard --- celebrate those special times of the year with the recordings of Beegie Adair.

I have almost all of her CDs. At least 2-3 are always in my car CD player. It's perfect background music. She has a rich, full style that includes enough improv to make it interesting, but not so much that you can't tell what the piece is. Most of her music is from the big band era, my personal favorite, and her style complements that genre perfectly.

One of my new Favorites in the Christmas Music category. Easy, nice listening - great for dinnertime!

Since I purchased all of Ms. Adair's Christmas music at the same time, I've had a chance to listen carefully to them all. I should say at the onset, I am not a heavy jazz buff.......more piano and light jazz aka George Shearing et al. If you expect to get jazz (aka Jazz Piano Christmas) with this CD, you won't get too much......but I found it excellent. It's well done, not too busy, adheres to the holiday music melodies. The one thing I really liked about this CD is that some of Ms. Adair's albums are done with a orchestra background, not just her trio and this is one of them. I much prefer these. If Ms. Adair offers any more of these orchestral background CDs, I'll buy every one of them and recommend them to my friends. Some jazz buffs will consider this 'dinner music' but I think it's masterfully done, true to the season and the best of her holiday offerings to date. Please give us more like this Beegie.

Beegie Adair is just great! I love her music and this is another fantastic CD. Perfect music to enjoy the holidays in a nice quite fashion.

I purchased this towards the end of Christmas or just after. I am still listening to it. It is different than so many Christmas albums. Beegie Adair! What more can I say. If you purchase this I am sure you will be happy you did. You have to listen to it to appreciate it. If you like piano, you will like this. There is none finer than Beegie Adair---a great talent.

Having purchased several CDs by Beegie Adair I expected this one would be wonderful---and it was. It is now counted among our favorite collections of Christmas music. Buy this CD. You will not be disappointed.
