Most Helpful Customer Reviews

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Harvest McCampbell on September 30, 2008
Format: Paperback
This is absolutely the best book on winter gardening you are going to find, and while the cover focuses on the Maritime North West, the information could be used anywhere. The one draw back I see, is that much of the advise is not even needed in the Pacific Northwest, where you can often grow vegetables year round without any special location or structures to help your efforts. So, for some folks this book might make the task seem a little harder than it needs to be. But for folks that get some heavy frost, snow, or freezing, this book will definitely lengthen your growing season.

Although a dated book, the information is still fairly current. For those looking for information on winter gardening, you will get better information from Eliot Coleman books. There are several seed companies that also have good information on what and when to plant.
