This is the best of the Winter's Solstice series thus far. The songs are traditional enough to evoke the season, and the arrangements are unique enough that you can listen to this all year long.

The several "Solstice" CDs I bought are all wonderful for winter listening, holiday-ish but not overwhelmingly Christmassy. And I'm very fond of the semi-Irish, semi-baroque style in some of them.

When the Holidays get too hectic and you just want to decompress with a glass of wine or a book, this is the album to play. Soft but not corny, this music is very soothing with just enough of the Christmas traditional touch. Sometimes I get tired of always hearing the same old Christmas songs rehashed by this artist and that artist. These songs are a nice departure from this. Well worth every penny. S.
