I was a bit skeptical towards this cd when I first got it, but it quickly became a favorite due to its incredible blend of creativity, sincerity and melancholy. This is an absolutely gorgeous album with a high concentration of musical gems. I cannot explain why wintersleep is not more well known, but this cd is in the ranks with Radiohead's "OK computer", The Smiths "The Queen is dead" and Coldplay's "Parachutes". Do yourself a favor and take a listen. I guarantee you will not be disappointed! enjoy!

A buddy turned me onto these guys, and Im glad he did. Simply amazing album. At first listen I thought they were too "poppy" but after the second listen and subsequent listens Im floored. These canadian dudes got their stuff together! The vocals are incredible, and the musicianship on this record is something to behold. There is some pop to them, but not in an annoying way, and they do rock out too. Really its just wonderfully crafted well sung music. One of the best bands youve never heard of. All the songs are great but the highlights are:
oh forget it, theres only one subpar song People Talk. The rest are great. This cd wont leave your player for two weeks minimum! Guaranteed!

This is an eclectic mix of rock and indie-type music.
Each song is an original. No cookie cutter filler songs.
The lead singers voice is superb. Imagine if Dave Matthews
sang in a progressive-indie-rock band. That's basically wintersleep.
In my opinion the only reason they haven't hit the big time is because
they aren't from the USA.
