I used this bad boy for the first time 4 weeks ago on a homebrew kit from Northern Brewer. The size was more than enough for a 5 gallon batch of beer (obviously), but it is always always always a good idea to overshoot your size requirement. This thing is beastly, and very very heavy duty. The handles absolutely will require mitts as they have no integrated wooden handle or anything. I do not have a very high tech kitchen, and this still fit on my stove and beneath my shelves.

IMPORTANT!!!!! When using this for the first time, fill it completely with water and boil the heck out of it! No matter how hard you clean it, you will not get the metallic taste out of the inside of this pot unless you boil it first! Yes it is hard to boil that much water, but do it. Otherwise I guarantee it will taste metallic. Once boiled, you will even see the difference on the inside of the pot. This is not an issue with the pot, just something you must know, whether you're brewing beer or cooking lobsters or whatever. You have been warned!

Seriously, it's a pot. It is a very NICE pot, great price, thick walled, handles seem sturdy...ummm...aluminum...errrr...pot.

I use it for home brewing and am very happy with it. Got some jealous looks from my brewing buddies. A five-gallon batch (starting with 6 gallons of water) leaves plenty of head space for your boil.

I do wish it included a cover, or at least that covers didn't add another 25% onto the overall cost, but I won't dock it a star for that.

It arrived very well packaged with no dents or scratches.

So there you go. Have at it.

Purchased for home brewing. It's a pot that works fine for this purpose. I used it with an open flame propane cooker and it worked very well.

This thing is SOLID, I was very impressed with the thickness of the aluminum. Even when full the handles are sturdy with no flex in this pot whatsoever. Heats VERY fast and is efficient, important if you're using this with an outdoor propane burner. It is wide in diameter and heavy, so this isn't a pot you can move around by yourself, at least not when it's still hot and full of stuff.

I've used the pot for making chili, stock, rice, pasta sauce, and even deep frying chickens and turkey. If you want to do all your cooking in one pot, this is it. The thick bottom has great heat distribution so you can saute vegetables or brown meat right in the pot, then add the liquids to make whatever you want. Deep frying is also great, you can fit 4 or 5 chickens quite easily. A pot this size is versatile and the things you can do with it are endless.

If you're used to cooking with typical department store stockpots than this will seem gigantic. This pot is NOT suitable for use on an average home stove. It is best used on larger gas ranges or even better outside on a propane burner. For those wondering if this pot is too big for your particular use, well here's a tip. Always, always, always go to the next size up than what you think you need. Anyone who has bought a TV knows that once you get it home and use it a few times you wish you bought the bigger one! Same goes for cookware, I have since bought the 120 quart as well!

I received the 12 quart as a gift (with lid sold separately.) I am using it for cooking and not for beer brewing, as many reviewers seem to be.

First off, it is so sturdy yet light! The aluminum is very thick, so this isn't the typical Imusa-type pan you'll see for sale in your grocery store! For the light home user, it isn't likely to get dented if you drop it.

I have used it for making broth. It works super well! It holds a lot of stuff, and the heating seems very even. My one problem is that it is a bit too tall - my sink is rather small, so it is hard for me to clean this pot. However, that is my own specific problem, and not really the fault of the pot. But keep this in mind if you have a small sink. I'll be amending this review with the height of the pot later, so that you can make sure you'll be able to fit it in your sink if you buy it.

Bottom line: Great for broth and stock (As the name stock pot suggests), a wonderfully thick but very light pot, heavy-duty and well constructed, great for cooking everything - but a little hard to clean if your sink is small. Because of the great value, though, and how well it cooks, this isn't a huge hardship - hence I give it 5 stars.

I brew beer and need to boil 7 gallons at a time. This allows me to do so with ample head space. This kettle saved me a ton over a comparable steel one, and is very heavy-gauged aluminum with sturdy handles. I move this around with 6 gallons in it after my boil, and there is never a buckle or wiggle. There has been some discoloration which can be expected with aluminum but is not harmful. -1 star for not having a lid included.

I bought this pot for home brewing, and it works great. I used the 24-quart model and it was plenty large enough to control boil over. It is thick aluminum, so it feels solid, and the handles are sturdy as well. I oxidized it with 5 gallons of water, and my electric range could get it boiling, so disregard some of the reviewers who said they couldn't boil. Conducts the heat really well, I didn't have to worry about the pot burning anything, as sometimes a stainless steel one would.

Definitely get the lid if you are going to be boiling that much water, as it'll speed things up.

I was definitely impressed with the rugged construction for the price.
