3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing like the first one! October 30, 2011
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Wipeout 2 for Wii is COMPLETELY different than Wipeout The Game for Wii. This is both wonderful and tragic.

I for one loved the original (which for this review I will call Wipeout 1) because it was so horrible. The glitches and horrible graphics added to the already hilarious premise of the game, and I have yet to play a round with friends without hysterically laughing with tears in my eyes. I also loved the 4-player gameplay, with tennis balls, dodgeballs, and medicine balls adding to the fun. It was always hilarious whenever a medicine ball was thrown at the perfect time, sending your opponent flying. Even if you didn't have 4 human players, you still got to take your computer opponents down each round.

If you remember anything from this review, remember this: WIPEOUT 2 IS ONLY FOR TWO PLAYERS. I think this is a horrible strategic move on ABC/Activision's part. I don't see any reason why you cannot get four human players in the action, considering they still throw two random computer players' "scores" into the final count, which makes it impossible to win sometimes. You don't even get the chance to mess with the computer players.

And the weapon of choice for Wipeout 2? Snowballs and mud balloons. Not nearly as fun as the tennis, medicine, and dodge balls of Wipeout 1. With each hit you make, you add five penalty seconds to your opponent's score...which absolutely sucks during some obstacles where there is not a lot of movement you can make to avoid it. Plus, I prefer to knock people off of a level with medicine balls instead of just hitting them with mud or snow.

Now I must say that technically, Wipeout 2 works much better than Wipeout 1. It doesn't glitch, and the graphics are (somewhat) better...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun game October 16, 2011
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I picked this game up a few days ago & have been playing it since. The graphics are average. But, the controls are better than the 1st game-no nunchuk required, just the wii remote. After you unlock the episodes & characters-there isn't much else to do; but, it's fun watching the variety of wipeouts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good physical workout game. November 9, 2013
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii|Verified Purchase
This was for my son's 9th birthday. He completely aced the original wipeout, so I figured he needed the next two for something a little more challenging. He was initially frustrated, but now he loves it. he hasn't mastered it yet...

1.0 out of 5 stars Sucks! December 8, 2012
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii|Verified Purchase
We own wipeout 1 which is fun. We had rented wipeout 3 and it was a blast but I thought lets get wipeout 2 so that we have them in order and it sucks. The controls are ridiculous and it is nothing like 1 or 3. I wish I could return it and get 3. My daughter is 8 and hates it and struggles with it the whole time.

This is the worst of the series. Maybe good to entertain some Toddlers. Boring and Buggy. Don't Bother. Get the other Series, 1 or 3 and more...
