Reissue featuring the first two LPs by this hit surf group from California, 'Wipe Out' & 'The Surfaris Play Wipe Out'. Both were originally released on the Decca label in 1963. Tracks include the smash 'Wipe Out', plus 'Misirlou', 'Surfer Joe' and 'Green Onions'. 1999 release. Standard jewel case.

I admit to being a big fan of the Surfaris. Unfortunately, we all know Surfer Joe and Wipe Out, but this CD contains two terrific albums, including great original instrumentals like Waikiki Run and Point Panic, and some terrific covers including Jack the Ripper and Apache. Ron Wilson's voice was a little thin, but Hot Rod High is a terrific song. In general, I think these are two great albums on one CD by a very underrated instrumental band. Looking for more to come, like Hit City '65 and the Surfaris '66, with great cover tunes.
