This book also has many wonderful ideas for using wire coiling.

The designs look like art projects that belong in a museum, not anything you'd want to wear.

I can also say that this book did not stand out in any way for me.

I own the first Wire Style book which I often go back to for ideas. I rated it 4 stars because of the ideas, but she lost a star because in both of theses books the directions are non-existent. If you are a visual learner, and need step by step instructions, then these books are not for you. The instructions are given in list form, such as "create a toggle bar," she gives directions on how to do this but if you have never seen a toggle bar before, the directions will not help you. There are instructions in the front, but they are generalized and most people have trouble flipping back and forth.
My second gripe about this book is that many of the designs look like they are for eight year old girls. There are lots of bright colors and simple designs like the average 8-12 yr old girl would love. But even if you bought it for that audience, many of the designs are repitious and non-imaginative. Of the 45 projects in this book, 14 are girlish and the average adult would not be comfortable with. 8 are actually projects that I might consider making and wearing. The rest are what you see all too often in jewelry books. The designs look like art projects that belong in a museum, not anything you'd want to wear. The sample pages are the best designs in the book. If you like a lot of copper, antiqued silver and kiddie projects, then you'll like this book. If you are a beginner, a visual learner and a grown-up then there are many other books that a far superior to this one. I will be donating this one to my local library.

The book is okay. I really only like two projects. I was lead to believe that the DVD had more to offer. I was looking for more depth in the teachings.

I'm absolutely THRILLED to be reviewing this book for you today! I received a copy last week (it's available to everyone on February 20th) and I immediately devoured it.

There are various levels of wire work in the book, and with 45 designs to choose from, you'll find something to love. Earrings, bracelets, and necklaces are all made with a variety of metals and materials. Not only will you love the tutorials, but you'll love discovering new bead artists in polymer clay, lampwork glass, and ceramic.

The book also comes with a one-hour instructional DVD -- excellent for those that like to see someone making things in addition to reading instructions. Even if you don't watch the DVD, you'll find tutorials easy to follow, and they'll provide jewelry designers with a great jumping-off point for creating their own unique designs.

Along with author Denise Peck, the contributors to Wire Style 2 offer their own unique style. (The contributors are Kerry Bogert, Jodi Bombardier, Jane Dickerson, Lorelei Eurto, Connie Fox, Lisa Niven Kelly, Donna Spadafore, and Cindy Wimmer.)

My recommendation? Run, don't walk, to grab this book as soon as it hits the stands. It's an inspiring jewelry design book you won't want to miss.

I liked the first book much better. The fact that this one has a DVD is great but the projects are not my style.

Though I can say I do like her designs, but sorry to say I am not crazy about any I saw in this edition of her new book. I can also say that this book did not stand out in any way for me. Did not excite me to go out and buy any new supplies to try any one project, which is what I look for in a design book. And let me say I am more a wire with some beads crafter then just a beading crafter, so I thought it would be right up my alley for design. Sorry!

This is not a bad book but the first one was much better, to me. Still, a decent purchase. Noted author.

This is a great inspiration book. It has wonderful instructions and is full of so many ideas that can be mixed and morphed into your own creations.
