1.0 out of 5 stars Ads... Ads as Far as the Eye Can See... September 19, 2014
Access Method:print_and_digital| Subscription Term Name:6 month auto-renewal|Verified Purchase
Wow. How Wired has fallen... Last time I had read Wired, the magazine actually kept my attention. This magazine is a collection of ads with one or two barely interesting articles sandwiched in the middle. While those articles are usually interesting, it's a travesty that you have to shuffle through near-countless ads to get to them. Even worse, a big part of the ads are native ads. So, you have to think about it for a minute before you realize it's an ad. And then you feel a little molested for it. I don't mind ads and even a native ad or two in my magazines, but Wired takes this idea to a new level that I always assumed would be reserved for the shadiest of magazines...

Very disappointed. I get my new Wired in, scan through it, and throw it away unless those one or two articles seem interesting.

I like this magazine and the hat was sweet (very good quality and thank you for that because it was unexpected). That said, the magazine is terrific but I spot-read it, since it's layout is too frenetic and I lose interest after awhile. I think it's a great deal for the price, but I was not at all happy with the auto renew at $25, so I cancelled. I just can't pay five and then before the subscription is out, be billed $25 for the same thing. I didn't see the value in that, but this is my personal opinion. Others may feel differently.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do you like ads? Then this magazine is for you! March 28, 2014
Access Method:print_and_digital| Subscription Term Name:6 month auto-renewal|Verified Purchase
I read the wired website somewhat frequently and the articles there are quite interesting. So I subscribed to the magazine to get more of such articles. However, after having received a couple of issues I can say with some confidence that these magazines are primarily composed of ads. I actually counted and it seems that they put an ad on every other page. The largest interval I have seen between ads thus far is 3 pages and these "large" gaps do not happen very often. So unless you want to see what watches people are selling or what Microsoft's new marketing campaign is like, you should move on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing but advertisements July 25, 2014
Access Method:print|Subscription Term Name:1 year auto-renewal
If you want to read about technology this might seem like a good choice, however after receiving my first Wired Magazine, I saw they are more concerned with social issues and making money by producing a magazine of 60-70 pages containing about 50 pages of advertising. The small amount of technology content was so boring I simply tossed the remaining 11 issues in the recycle bin when they arrived. What a rip!

4.0 out of 5 stars great deal for the money. May 17, 2014
Access Method:print_and_digital| Subscription Term Name:6 month auto-renewal|Verified Purchase
though this mag is tops for early breaking tech news its format is a little tough to view. over-reaching is a modern problem in journalism in all areas, and this problem shows in the graphic design here, which attempts to give some tech hipster feel but only flails in the air helplessly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great magazine... June 3, 2014
Access Method:print_and_digital| Subscription Term Name:6 month auto-renewal|Verified Purchase
Great articles and nice to have the digital version, too. Good content, though a ton of fluff in each issue. On the other hand, the hat is horrible and immediately went in the trash.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wired January 17, 2015

I ordered Wired for my grandson and he cannot get it on line. I have tried to send him the information but it just doesn't work. He really has had no use of it until he gets the magazine. I hope he does get the magazine.
