Must Read for All Church Leaders,
By
This review is from: The Wired Church 2.0 (Paperback)
Wired is a must read! Certainly for those involved in or interested in doing media ministry, but this book isn't just about media ministry. It's about ministry in general in the 21st Century. Len gives an excellent overview of the entire concept of ministering in this digital age, regardless of whether we are digital gurus, anti-media luddites or somewhere in between. His discussion in team development is invaluable for any kind of ministry team, not just media ministry. And as always the technical section is filled with excellent material and great ideas.

The book starts out to be a little academic but quickly gets into very practical advice.

Not what I expected,
By
This review is from: The Wired Church 2.0 (Paperback)
The book is seperated into four parts:
1. Developing a mission for media. 2. Designing meaningful media for worship. 3. Building a championship crew. 4. Mastering the technology. Each part describes the way and reason why of doing things in media ministry. The book's main focus is using technology for the worship service. This is not what I was hoping for. I was looking for ways to utilize techology for our small, rural church in general. The book focused more on how to start using a projector/video for worship services in a large church setting. To get started, according to the book, would cost around $15,000 to use technology for worship. The book really didn't seem to be very helpful for the complete beginner. It was wrote on a "higher education" level. It almost seems to me that the author was writing this book to be used in a classroom setting. In other words, more theory than practicality. There were however, some good points. Overall though, this is one book the beginner can skip.

This review is from: The Wired Church 2.0 (Paperback)
As a Newbie in media ministry, I found The Wired Church 2.0 to be very informative. This is a must read for any church interested either in starting a media ministry or muscling up their existing ministry. Wilson and Moore offer practical step by step advice that is easy to understand and apply. The Wired Church 2.0 is a comprehensive book that will gather no dust as you pull it off the shelf and refer to it over and over throughout the growth of your church's media ministry.
