This review is from: 2.4GHz Digital Wireless Baby Video Monitor System With Night Vision -- 2.4" Color LCD Screen (Two-way Radio communication) (Electronics)
I was searching for a good video baby monitor for weeks. I had an audio-only baby monitor, but it's a pity I could not see the condition of my son, e.g. his sleeping position, whether the blanket is in place, etc. Unfortunately, most video baby monitors are either analog (interference) or without the talk-back feature. My old audio-only monitor is analog and it has quite a bit of interference, but it has a good feature: two-way radio for talking back to the child -- a feature that I feel very important.
This 2.4GHz Digital Wireless Baby Monitor System with Night Vision meets all my expectations, at a very affordable price comparatively. It works immediately out-of-the-box, no interference, clear audio and video, good night vision, and I can talk back to my son. The voice activated alarm and video works pretty well. Only one small complaint: it wakes up from sleep mode and turns on the video/audio for only a brief moment (like 5 seconds) which is too short, it would have been better if the duration is like 30 seconds or configurable; but it's not a big deal - I can always turn off the sleep mode immediately with a touch of a button. I highly recommend this baby monitor.

Product as described. I bought this monitor to observe my 81 yr old Mother on Hospice. In just one day, this monitor brought me so much peace of mind allowing her to have some time alone, and I was able to be in another room or out in the yard for more time than I have been in a long time. It was such a relief to just look at the monitor and see if she was awake or getting out of bed and instantly hear her call for me because her voice is so weak.
I can turn the visual off and give her her privacy yet hear her when she called me. A really great option. I can go into another room or go outside and continue to view and hear her. Since she is in the stage where she can't remember to push her Lifelink button anymore, this was the perfect answer, it is voice activated! If she falls, I can hear or see her immediatly, yet she has the feeling of freedom to do what she can still do around the house and I can see if she goes outside and is at a risk for falling. I only wish I would have thought about this 3 years ago when my Father was in Hospice and unable to walk, confined to bed, yet would attempt to get up all night when he didn't know what he was doing. I can now sleep in my room and feel more at ease! You should really market this item to caregivers, it is wonderful. Thank you for helping me keep my Mother safe! Daughter, Marianne

This model has good video quality and good audio quality. It includes battery pack for both pieces which is nice. However there is a terrible oversight that ruins this product in my opinion. The speaker always stays in off mode and comes on only if the sound gets to a certain decibel level. This is highly irritating because I cannot hear the small noises that can also be important. It didn't even pick it up when my daughter was faintly crying! So forget about hearing your child unless they are crying or talking loudly. I'm sure it's just a battery saving feature if they are running on the batteries, but why didn't they make it possible to change the setting on the speaker to full time?!! If I can't hear my infant stirring or if she's sick and possibly vomiting, this is not a safe baby monitor to me. Sure it has video, but who wants to keep their eyes glued to a video receiver? Otherwise it would be a good monitor. Good luck.
