They ALL pair to it and music shows to be playing from the phones, but there's no audio through the dock.

It lasted around 4 hours before it stopped working.

First of all, this thing works exactly as advertised. Don't believe these woeful tales spun by people that couldn't figure out how to get it to work with their devices. There is only one caveat to this statement, The iWave device is designed to work with the more simple docks and not the sophisticated ones that actually control your iPod/iPhone/iPad. The simple dock will also need to be able to charge your iPod/iPhone/iPad because if it doesn't, chances are the iWave won't get the power it requires to run.

The instructions on the package are quite simple if you take the time to read them. They say to have the docking device powered up and in iPod mode BEFORE you dock the iWave to it. It might take a few tries, but once you get it on and powered up it performs perfectly. This little gem has saved most of my docking devices - I have about 10 of them...

The product description improperly declared compatibility with Bose SoundDocks, but this is not true for 1st generation docks. The first generation dock unwisely only provided power to devices on the 12V pin, ignoring the 5V pin. You can (or could) by a $100 replacement board from Bose that talks on the 5V pin, but it isn't worth it. I had hoped that this device would deal with power on either pin, but it doesn't.

I've turned mine in for return and so far, no hassles.

This device may work properly for other devices. I wouldn't know. It does not even power on for at least one advertised purpose. The description should be altered to match the capabilities of the device.

I have a Bose Sounddock portable. Its a great product and the sound is amazing, but to use it my phone has to sit in the dock, usually out of my reach. Until now. I have been looking for a bluetooth solution for a while and most products come up short. There are many bluetooth receivers out there, but most require separate AC power - not very portable!

This device plug directly into the iPhone dock on Bose. It powers on automatically and looks for a device to pair to. I turn on my iPhone bluetooth, it shows up in the list of devices then asks for a pairing code which is "0000". It pairs quickly and your are done. I can now play my Pandora tunes from up to 15 feet away. And the sound very good. Not perfect, but very good. I found this for $12 on ebay from Hong Kong with 50 cents shipping - an amazing price for this device.

I tried to connect it to my Bose speakers and the light won't turn on. It just doesn't work and there is no troubleshooting available.

Once plugged into my speaker system this device powered on and synced with my phone flawlessly. The problem came when I tried to play music. My music would play fine for a few seconds, then the volume would drop off until I couldn't hear it anymore. I tried this several times on multiple devices but always had the same result. If you're looking for a good Bluetooth receiver I also have the ILIVE, and the AUGUST 240. Both have power buttons so they can be turned on or off & never have to be removed from my speakers to reconnect to my phone, (which most BT receivers require by the way). Check out my reviews on those if you want to know more. This device did not work and was returned.

It works fine in my iHome model iH5. HOWEVER, I don't really trust it because it gets really hot after a while.

After all the attention these little devices have gotten lately in the blogosphere, you can practically hear everyone dragging their old Bose Sounddocks down out of the attic and blowing the dust off them. I was thrilled at the prospect of a wireless connection with the iPad and eagerly waited for mine to arrive. It did, but got no power from the Bose, although it powered up fine with the USB cable.

HERE'S what some of you early adopters need to know: old Series I Sounddocks supply firewire power to the wrong pin on the 30 pin connector, so these things WILL NOT WORK. Easy workaround - get a Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPod and iPhone (Black) to adapt the dock to USB. Got one of those, plugged it in between, the bluetooth's LED blinked alertly to life and the music came pouring out.

It's nice to postpone gadget obsolescence (even your iPhone 5 will work with the old stuff). This tiny adapter rocks! Easy to use, cheap and reliable, once you get it working.
