Careful, after installing we had issues with car remotes and garage door openers, spread to 3 houses in our area.. Turned out to be the doorbell .. Used a RF sensor and homed in on the signal.. the second I disconnected all was working again.. Took me 3 weeks to find this..
Other than that it did work great.. it interferes with 315mhz devices (Garage Door openers and Car Remotes for certain brands)

Enough has been said about the door bell functions of this product. One review stated that they were bothered with power outages and when the power went out the door bell would ring! Cool! Why? Because it gives one a way to trigger the circuit without pushing the button! Stay with me and I'll describe how I've used this feature for my application. But first, let's clear up the situation regarding the power for the door bell button. The package says that it works off of 16 volts ac. Oh sh...! But, it also works using a 9 volt battery connected either direction. I'm using a 12 volt 23AE batteryGP Battery 12V 10 Pcs High Voltage Alkaline 23AE to power the button/sender unit. With the power (ac from your current door bell or 9-12 volts dc from battery) connected, a led glows inside the button package. When you press the button you are essentially shorting out the power supply and this triggers the unit to send a radio frequency signal that is received by the bell package. OR, when you remove the power (power goes out, or you disconnect the battery)it also sends the RF signal. So, if you want to use this as a 'remote sensor', all you have to do is to interrupt the power supply - you can do this using a switch (example: magnetic reed switch on a door or window). Switch open, power is lost to the door bell button, and a signal is sent! OK, now to the other end - the receiver/bell unit. When it gets an appropriate RF signal, it goes bong, bong, bing. And it has 3 loudness settings. But I really don't want to hear the bell - I want it to trigger another electronic device (in my case, I want it to 'close' a switch to activate a sensor connected to my 1-wire weather station).Read more ›

Seriously, for this price, the item is awesome. It's got multiple volume settings, and a distinct ring tone. I am glad I got it.

The transmitter for the remote doorbell is in the button and powered by the original doorbell button wiring. Simply replace the old button, mount the remote doorbell and you're done.

I used two different wireless door-bells before getting this one.
This one is so much better -- uses the same bell as the house for the main bell, but I can hear separate tones in my office.
