Product Description

This stick-up puts a good light on things at home near the bed or bath and in closets and cabinets ... it can even keep monsters at bay in the kids' room. Or you can shed a little light on the great outdoors from your tent or trailer. LED lights are all the rage in battery powered applications over traditional incandescent or fluorescent bulbs for a number of good reasons. They're more efficient, they produce more light per watt so batteries last longer. LED "bulbs" don't really "burn out". Lasting up to 1,000 hours, they will likely outlive the equipment they're mounted in and being turned on/off/on/off frequently or quickly doesn't reduce their life. They're much more resistant to shock and shattering, can be mounted in very small places and can be grouped or packaged to focus without requiring reflectors -- all contributing to outstanding application in portable equipment. And besides all that, unlike fluorescent, there's no risk of exposure to toxic mercury. This light has a warranty too. These advantages taken together explain why now with their low cost, long life, and high utility, it make so much sense to have LED bulbs integrated into a wide variety of tools and household conveniences, and why it's possible to have a mounted light source or flashlight handy everywhere. There's no longer any excuse for anyone in your family being left in the dark!

The item is great for places where you need a diffuse light, such as closets or bathrooms. It's not something you want to use as a reading light necessarily, but products like this aren't really meant for that. The adhesive that came with the light left a little to be desired, but that easily could have been due to the location I had it in. Considering the price, you could buy a backup if needed and still save money compared to other products. Does the trick for boosting visibility in dim areas, and it's nice to be able to set the timer. The tap light feature is handy as well, especially since it emits a dim flash to guide you to it when you need to find it in the dark--leaves less to fumble over. Overall, a good product. Great customer service from the seller as well!

1.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, poor execution!, October 11, 2009
This review is from: Wireless LED Tap Light with Timer
alright, I got this for use outside my front door so that I would have a nice light that I could just tap and it go off on it's own once I'm inside. The problem with this light is that the flashing LED light flashes constantly!!! every other second it flashes. It wears the batteries down a lot faster than it should. I was hoping for it to only flash every 3-4 seconds but this thing just flashes too much and wastes the batteries. plus the red light could be 1/2 the brightness that it is instead of lighting up the whole front porch area every time it flashes.

Also the fact that this light is meant for putting screws in the wall and then hanging it on those it pointless. it should have a base that sticks to the wall and then you can twist it off to put new batteries in it. If you don't want to put holes in your wall then you have to use tape which will have to be ripped off each time you need to change the batteries.

who ever came up with that idea... is an idiot.
