5.0 out of 5 stars Improves my link tremendously, October 9, 2009

This review is from: Wireless-N USB High-Gain Network Adapter With High Gain 5dBi Dipole Antenna - Comply with 802.11n 802.11g and 802.11b Standards (Electronics)
I was a bit confused by the software that came with it so I decided NOT to install it. It works great without installing it so I made right choice. I use Vista so everything can be challenging as far as installing new software.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Buy But Can Be Finicky, March 17, 2010

This review is from: Wireless-N USB High-Gain Network Adapter With High Gain 5dBi Dipole Antenna - Comply with 802.11n 802.11g and 802.11b Standards (Electronics)
This adapter is a good product with a few limitations.

-When plugged into the USB port, it hangs down because it is so heavy. If something is not used to prop it up so it returns to a 90 degree angle, it will slip out of the port from time to time. Also, I worry that the weight will ruin the port by bending the metal. You will have to designate something to prop it up while in use.

-I use this to boost the signal from my media player to the computer. The only way it will boost the signal is if there is a direct and clear path between the player and the modem. The modem can not be in another room, behind a closed door, or even behind a room divider screen. The signal will become choppy and that is no good for streaming media.

If you can live with these limitations, it is a fantastic tool for the price.

This item is cheap and there is a reason why. Bad, slow signal/connection pickup.
The only good thing is the easy Setup...
