I was a bit confused by the software that came with it so I decided NOT to install it. It works great without installing it so I made right choice. I use Vista so everything can be challenging as far as installing new software.

This adapter is a good product with a few limitations.

-When plugged into the USB port, it hangs down because it is so heavy. If something is not used to prop it up so it returns to a 90 degree angle, it will slip out of the port from time to time. Also, I worry that the weight will ruin the port by bending the metal. You will have to designate something to prop it up while in use.

-I use this to boost the signal from my media player to the computer. The only way it will boost the signal is if there is a direct and clear path between the player and the modem. The modem can not be in another room, behind a closed door, or even behind a room divider screen. The signal will become choppy and that is no good for streaming media.

If you can live with these limitations, it is a fantastic tool for the price.

This item is cheap and there is a reason why. Bad, slow signal/connection pickup.
The only good thing is the easy Setup...

I bought this useless piece of item to fix in my laptop.I had some difficulties doing it so i tried contacting customer service for help and they snubbed me.I have disposed off this item and will deal with this company at the appropriate time.IF THIS COMPANY HAS NO TIME FOR CUSTOMERS,dont even sell your items on Amazon!!!

Sometimes is helpful but if I had to do over again probably would not purchase.
