I do like the station very much.

We're in Texas, so anytime I can open the windows to cool the house down instead of using the air conditioning, I want to be able to jump at the chance.

No battery changes needed yet and only had to rest the unit once because it wouldn't sync up with the external unit.

I had an old La Crosse Weather Station that had finally seen its last days after being knocked off a living room table by an overly-happy kitten. So I was in the market for a new weather station. This time, I wanted to find one that not only gave me the temps inside and out, but ALSO gave me the humidity levels inside and out (my old one didn't do that). We're in Texas, so anytime I can open the windows to cool the house down instead of using the air conditioning, I want to be able to jump at the chance. This weather station has been perfect for my needs. It has been pretty accurate (within one degree) to the outside temps given by our local weatherman on TV. The humidity is harder to tell if it's accurate, but even if it gets me in the ballpark range (is the air wet or dry), that's what I need, and this weather station has worked well for me in that regard. The only thing that sort of caught me by surprise was the size of this one. I was expecting a smaller one, similar to the weather station I previously had, but this model is pretty big. However, the size is actually a bonus, so I can now tuck it away on a shelf in the corner of a room (away from the overly-happy kitty) and I can still see the numbers displayed on it. The synch between the outside unit and inside unit was simple (easier than the La Crosse) and took just a few seconds to accomplish. Overall, I'm VERY happy with our new weather station. :)

Except for the weather forecasting feature, which I have never found to be accurate in the many similar products I have owned, this unit does a nice job. The base is very sturdy, not like some with legs, and provides all the basic information.

I already had one of these. Love it...Bought this one for a friend for Xmas....He loves it!

I put the remote temp module in my RV basement where my holding tanks and water tanks are...In our winter travels I can monitor the tanks for freezing.

Love it ..... easy to set up, then realized the clock was off and no matter what I did, I couldn't set it. BUT lo and behold, the atomic clock set itself within 24 hours.

AND so interesting to watch the moon indicator change daily.....BUT it was 80 degrees yesterday, and the weather indicator showed clouds and rain for the next 12 hours..... AND now it's preparing to rain.

Highly recommend!

Purchased the 1097 unit from Costco. Placed them beside each other for an extended time (10 days) and recorded the temperature and RH. The temperatures were always accurate. However, the difference in RH ranged from between 3% and 6% (was 10% different initially). After calling Chaney Customer Care (877 221 1252), and talking to their tech rep (Jenny), I find out the RH accuracy is +/- 5%. She did not know what the relative accuracy was, nor how repeatable the readings should be, i.e., if true RH is 48%, and reads 43%, another day it might read 53%, and still be within spec. When asked how would they know if it were defective, she was unable to provide an answer.

Do not buy if RH is desired - the units cannot be trusted! It is an expensive thermometer.

We were very pleased with the product at first, but shortly after the two week period where it was syncing up, the time was incorrect, occasionally, and not by an hour but random minutes. We would reset it and then it would work for a day or less and then it was incorrect again. We returned it.
