This is a neat little device. I'm using it as a remote for my Mac Mini (which is employed as a media server) and it's perfect. If you're planning to use this for any normal data entry, forget it--it is WAAAAY too small. But for turning on iTunes, typing in web addresses, etc, it works like a champ. It's probably even smaller than you think--maybe 1/3 wider than an iPhone. The touchpad works well, and no glitches with the keyboard noticed yet. Range appears good, but I haven't pushed the limits to see how far it will go (the couch-to-TV distance is well within its limits). It is indeed Mac compatible, but it's like any other non-Mac USB keyboard in that it doesn't have the Apple command keys. That's a bit of a hassle, but certainly manageable (I'm not a `Mac person,' so there might be some trick commands that don't work as well, but I'm not aware of them). It took a few minutes to get it installed on the Mac Mini while the computer searched in vain for the keyboard type, but entering the generic `American' keyboard when that option finally came up worked fine. Definitely recommend this product for similar, limited-use applications.

Perfect for a HTPC the keys get some getting use to. The only bad feature is it falls asleep to fast. It takes a number of hits on a certain key to wake it up. better off shutting it off and on. To bad it does not have a motion sensor like some remotes.

I've been using this device with my living room HTPC for four months now. I wanted something smaller than a full-size KB without having to pay over $100 (a la the Dinovo Mini). As a mouse replacement / point-and-click device, it does a pretty good job. However, it seems the mouse pad seems to fall asleep quickly. I frequently have to turn it off and back on. Since it has keyboard functions, you can type in commands or URLs; just be patient. However, certain things are irritatingly difficult. For example, CTRL-ALT-DEL takes a few contortions. Also, the range isn't as far as I'd hoped. If I put the dongle in the back, reception is about 30% shorter. Even with it in front, I still have to be within 10-12 feet of the thing to get great reception. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get a proper HTPC keyboard.

Works well for what it does, blue led lights across top a little annoying, there are five when maybe two are needed. Some keys are placed in weird spots but it doesn't take long to get used to. Feels thin and cheaply made. All and all would buy again.

It works out of the box on my Ubuntu 10.10, and it's perfect for a HTPC.Only problem, a noisy keyboard! :-(

It does not work for XBox 360. why they say it does? I actually sent them an email asking specifically if it works with Xbox 360 and they answered in the email that it does. I purchased it for an XBOX 360 but it does not work with it. It' a deception. That' s why I was gonna give it 3 stars, but then I tried it on a PC and it seems works ok, but mine has a steady flickering on the pointer when I highlight thiings, or when I drag and drop, or when scrolling which I could not as yet do away with so I removed one more star. It seems ok to be used as remote control for a PC for general, not precision use, but dont know havent used it for such reason.

Very good Media Remote/Internet Surfing Remote.,

This remote is as plugging in the USB Dongle and turning on the remote to start. No software to install and no linking the remote to the dongle. The only bad things I've found about this are it wont wake my computer up from hybernate like the IR remote did and sometimes if left unused for an extended amount of time it needs to be turned off then back on to start working again. This remote WILL work when used in other rooms not in line of site of the computer. I'm using it to control a centralized media computer in a differant room on three differant televisions.

doesn't work with ubuntu 10.04. to be fair to the manufacturer, it is only specified for win machines, so i bet it works well with those.

This product functioned as described. The touch pad had nice control. It was very easy to use because of the plug-n-play feature. Had to be very firm and intentional with buttons to get them to work...to often I realized that it was not taking the character entry despite the "click" sound that the button made. This thing is super slim, but my concern was that it didn't seem durable enough to last in my house as a remote control for my PC TV.

The range is less then 30ft. Control becomes erratic much past 15ft (on mine anyways). No tab key(you know - if you want to alt-tab something to switch between apps?), no volume control buttons (not good for a HTPC)...When in range, mouse control IS pretty accurate. In my opinion, this device is kind of stinky to use as a primary keyboard for a HTPC though... |
