Wirthco Battery "Shut-Off"
I've used these switches before and they are built tough, work just like they're supposed to and totally easy to install. I would recommend these switches to everyone! Ken j. Nehalem, OR NW Oregon Coast

Did not fit on my battery post otherwise well constructed
This switch is very heavy duty, well constructed. I had to return it, however, because the hole in the cast part did not fit on my standard size 24 battery post (marine battery). Not sure if I got a defective one or they expected me to hammer the thing on.

The Wirthco 20148 Knife Switch-Toppost-Stud is very sturdy and well made but it stands so high above the battery that my hood could not be closed. By my measurement the hood would need to have at least 2 1/2" clearance above the top surface of the battery for the Wirthco 20148 to fit. I deducted one star because the product description does not specifically alert the buyer of this potential problem, although I admit that I could have seen the problem from the picture.

I keep them on both batteries on my 1984 dual battery diesel. No more expensive battery replacement! Well made product. I swear by them. They also add a security feature from theft.
