I had wanted a weeping willow tree for at least a year, but never felt like spending $30-$60 or more on something I wasn't sure I could get to grow (I'm renowned for having a brown shriveled thumb). When I found this one, I decided that for less than $10, it was worth a shot... if it died, I wasn't out much.

I expected this "tree" to be basically a twig with a few tiny roots when it arrived, as other "trees" I've ordered elsewhere have been. That was fine with me as long as the tree actually grew.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive my weeping willow two days after it shipped. It was very well packaged and the roots were still moist, thanks to quality packaging. The tree was at least 4' tall, much to my delight, with a very sturdy trunk, and had green leaves already trying to grow on it.

I planted it a couple of days later and watered it once (thankfully, it's been raining quite a bit since I planted it). It's already leafed out beautifully and is visibly taller, just a few weeks after I planted it. I'm really excited to watch it grow now!

As I'm sure anyone considering a weeping willow knows already, be sure to plant this as far from the house as possible and away from any underground utility lines, especially any water pipes, as this water-loving tree will spread its roots quite far to get the moisture it needs. With that in mind, I planted mine in a dry creek bed about 70' away from my house, where it will get plenty of water without having to snake its way into our water pipes.

All in all, this was an EXCELLENT purchase from an outstanding company that I plan to buy from again. Considering I have seen this size of weeping willow from other online nurseries for $30 on up, and given that weeping willow trees can grow many feet per year, this is one of the best landscaping purchases I've made.

I would recommend this dealer, Stark Bros Nurseries, for purchasing any nursery item. The tree was received in good shape. The price was very fair.
