Steve Cass is a singer/songwriter out of the Tempe, Arizona area. Wisdom is his debut CD, and is probably best characterized as Praise & Worship mixed with Christian folk...The guitar work throughout this whole project is a step beyond excellent, and the musical arrangements professional and polished. That superb musicianship is revealed on Under The Son. The guitar is very enjoyable, and the percussion gives this a Latin feel...If Glorify is any indication of Steve's songwriting abilities, the Lord must be truly blessed listening to his heart as well as his voice...Steve reminds me in many ways of Paul Williams -- a decent vocalist, but remarkably talented as a songwriter and musician. The creative guitar licks are ones that you'll happily listen to over and over again. Steve is obviously a studied and talented musician. His artistic guitar work is some of the best I've heard. If you are a singer looking for fresh material, or a music lover seeking a peaceful CD, Wisdom is it.

Wisdom is a great compilation of songs straight from the heart of Steve Cass. Songs like "I Need You" and "Glorify" are tender expressions from a man who clearly seeks the heart of the Lord. Steve is able to see the Word, infuse it with his intuitive musical sensibilities to create an expression of his devotion to God. "Trust" provides a brief window into his electric guitar skills while "Under the Son" shows off his obvious love for Latin styling on the acoustic. Not every guitarist can switch so easily in competence between acoustic and electric and he is obviously comfortable in both arenas. He has a clear calling on his life. Steve's voice is resonant and strong; he has obvious skill for harmonies. I highly recommend this album and look forward to another release from him.

Every song on Steve's cd, I have no doubt, has touched the heart of God. The melodies and lyrics are so beautiful. They work together to bring the listener into a closeness with God. And, if that weren't enough, Steve's acoustic talents are amazing. If you want an excellent cd to praise God by, then I strongly recommend you check out Wisdom-Discovery of the Word.
