This review is from: The Wisdom of Isis: God in the Universe, God in the Heart (Paperback)
This book tries to explain the underlying metaphysical meanings of the mythological stories about Isis (Aset) and some of the other Egyptian gods that appear in those same stories such as Osiris and Horus.

For example what does it mean that Isis learned Ra's true name ?

Most mythology is based on reality at some level. Yes those gods like Isis and Osiris are real.

He makes some interesting comments such as all religions have many things in common at a spiritual level. It is a lack of understanding of this commonality between different religions that has caused a lot of turmoil througout history.

That's probably because there are things in this world that are more powerful than religion: greed, mistrust, etc..

The author tries to tell people how to get in touch with their super conscious mind through meditation as well as other things such as becomming a vegetarian, avoid watching tv, thinking about God 24 hours a day, and other things.

I don't doubt that if people really followed his ideas they could probably unlock a lot of wisdom from deep in their minds such as past life memories and other things.

In Dr. Brian Weiss' book "Same Soul Many Bodies" this guy remembered a past life as a priest in ancient Egypt. He said the priests used "energy rods" which generated both light and sound to stimulate the body's own healing properties. They could for example stimulate the body to regenerate limbs that had been lost in battle.

Ancient Egypt was a very mysterious place. I think it is becomming clear that many archaeologists today are mistaken about how old the pyramids and those other monuments really are and for that matter why or even how they were constructed.

I feel I saw Isis one night. She has dark skin and is very beautiful. Like the Mona Lisa she is both young and old at the same time. Not many people realize that Isis provided some of the inspiration for this mysterious painting.

I'm probably going to get a tattoo of Isis on my chest which will be based mainly on the illustration of the goddess that appears throughout this book.
