This review is from: The Wisdom of the Outlaw: The Boyhood Deeds of Finn in Gaelic Narrative Tradition (Hardcover)
For those interested in an academic study of Irish folklore and specifically, Finn MacCool, this is one of the best books I've read on the subject. Nagy is thourough, rigorous, AND a good writer, a rare-enough combination in the world of academic literature. The subject itself, and Nagy's insights into the character of Finn and his fiana, are also extremely interesting and enlightening. A must-read for the serious student of Irish folklore.
